Salier has had alleged "conservatives" ask him to drop out and endorse Ganske because if the primary is especially bitter, Ganske runs the risk of losing the conservatives altogether. Ex-Governor Terry Branstad sent out a letter to Republicans to "clear up the record" on Greg Ganske. It is posted in the Iowa locale. Bob Barr has also sent a letter into Iowa touting Ganske's pro-second amendment stance, even though he received a D in their latest ratings.

Barr's office and the NRA phone lines have all been flooded with angry Iowa conservatives.

Branstad lost his political mind just before his departure from office after 16 years.

He gave away the store to the ISEA (the NEA's Iowa affiliate), scr*wing over his Republican allies in the legislature in the process.

Fortunately, he just doesn't carry that much political weight these days. You can see why.

There is no one to blame on that score except Ganske himself. In the House, he voted with the Dems almost as often as he voted with the Republican caucus.

As they say, he left the Party, not the other way around. That is one of the key reasons that we can't allow him to win the nomination.

The only people who are going to be mad if Salier wins are Ganske and his inner circle, and a few RINOs.

As far as the general electorate, they love Bill...he is cut from the same cloth as Grassley...a farmer who is known as a straight shooter. For those who don't know, Grassley wins reelection with over 70% of the votes.
