‘It’s too much’: Democrats shudder at Trump’s money machine

Democrats are increasingly worried by the spending chasm between the two sides — and its implications for 2020.

Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee have raised more than $300 million this year for his reelection — more than any other sitting president in history at this point in the campaign.

Trump has nearly twice as much cash on hand — $158 million, between his campaign account and the RNC — as Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee had at this time in his successful re-election run.

Already this year, Trump’s campaign operation has spent close to $23 million on TV and digital advertising, more than 10 times the amount that the lone major Democratic super PAC spending against him, Priorities USA, has laid out so far in its online-only spending campaign. Story Continued Below

Democrats are growing increasingly alarmed by the spending chasm between the two sides — and its implications for the general election.

“The resources he has will be put to work anywhere and everywhere that he feels like he can scare up electoral votes, and Democrats will never catch up. It’s just too much money,” said Chris Lippincott, a Texas-based Democratic strategist who ran a super PAC opposing Sen. Ted Cruz last year. “That’s real trouble … I’m not here to curse the dark, but it’s dark.”

And the situation stands to get worse.

Chump change compared to the in-kind contributions that will flow from social media giants, cable and network media, and “journalism” outlets. You couldn’t buy such support for billions of dollars. But don’t worry, Russia will spend a few thousand $ on facebook ads, and THAT is what will change the outcome of the election...

Why are the Dims worried. Trump will be removed from office before the election.

Right, Dims?

Trump beat them with half the money last time. More money doesn’t necessarily make Trump, more effective.

I’m holding my donations back, as I’m sure many others are.

The monetary avalanche is coming. The Dems should be shuddering.

It really is a simple thing. Most people are completely tired of the old hippies and their kids that represent the Democrat party.

Money-wise, this is sort of like The Beatles vs. Gerry and the Pacemakers.

No offense to Gerry and the Pacemakers.

Solution: Impeachment.

Why are you holding back your donations? Now more than ever they are needed... I kicked in another small amount last week. I only money, and you can always make more.

That is a lot more than 300 million sadly. They might not appreciate it but having the media and the online sites working on their behalf is priceless. The struggle is still on the Republican side and Trump.

The problem for the Democrats is that Trump will be sitting there with a billion-plus dollars in the July through October period...spending the money not only on himself, but in district by district campaigns to benefit GOP players going against Democrats. He can select a hundred seats to be taken back, and likely achieve that...gaining votes for himself at the same time.

It also means at the state level...more Republicans likely to win, and as the Census concludes...that group will redraw the district maps. For the whole next decade, the Trump-plus-up will be remembered.

The left is safe. They simply need to wait out Trump, and once he's gone, the terror state will begin in earnest.

I’ve sent some money but like you I’m holding back too... waiting for the time we really need to blow them out of the water with our donations.

Naw. See my # 11. What the media is trying hard to make into some sort of Revolutionary Wave is old hippies checking into retirement communities and their kids who have been making limp stabs at trying to be “merry pranksters” but finding that actually kind of boring and returning to their video games.

Please, everyone, realize it is ONLY the media that makes these people into some kind of “Revolutionary Force.”

The corrupt money is smart enough to know Trump will win. Even Tom Steyer sn’t dumb enough to waste another $100 million on them, instead he is spending it himself.
