I think I watched the effective end of the Republican party during the primary campaigns of 2016.

If Trump is impeached and convicted, President Pence nominates Trump as VP. Then resigns. Trump names Pence VP.
Rinse and repeat.
We can play games too

Flake is just trying to give hope to the House Dems that their impeachment vote is not in vain.

Romney 17 times and Flake 18 times!

Flake says what?
Who cares.

Romney 17 times and Flake 18 times! Not many others.

It takes 67 guilty votes to convict in the Senate. There are 47 Dems. Unless they caught Trump sleeping with a dead woman or live boy while making that call to the Ukraine, I dont see where theyre going to get the votes other than Mittens crossing over to vote with them.

Thank you. Lots of defeatism on these threads.
Any GOP senator who would vote against Trump is committing political suicide.
They don’t have to like him — but he’s a proven winner. They could do well to learn a few lesson on how to win.

Vote to convict for this Ukraine nonsense. Many of these are already on record against it.”

Quite so. Thanks for counteracting the hysteria on this thread.

If they do, it will be the end of the Republican party. Conservatives would consider it a betrayal.
