President Donald Trump said that India has never invested in the U.S. like it is doing today and said he wants to strengthen the two nation's "cherished bonds" during a rally with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
Organizers expected roughly 50,000 people to attend the "Howdy Modi" rally at Houston's NRG Stadium.
"We welcome India's growing investments right here in the Lone Star state. Nations around the world are investing in the United States because they know we have the best economy and best workers in world. We want to thank everybody and India has never invested in the US like it is doing today, and I want to say its reciprocal because were doing the same thing in India," Trump said.
He focused on the countries' investments in each other and highlighted the first-ever NBA games to be played in India in October. The Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings will face off in two preseason games in Mumbai.

Words cannot express how ENRAGED Muslims worldwide were at this rally. I saw no less than 3 petitions on Facebook this past week against it, with 100k signatures. Muslims DESPISE Modi and blame him for (well-deserved) massacres of Muslims in Gujarat when he was an interior official.
They were trying to organize huge protests in the mosques but it came to nothing.
Yes, I know your boy Lyn' Ted supported 500% increase in H1B and he'll surely support his friend Lee's bill, but have you no shame?
...India investing in US. No, more accurately, they are colonizing the US. It is happening all around us.
So all that really means is President Trump lost the vote of people who wouldn't vote for him anyway, and he looked good to all the non-muslim Indians and probably gained votes there.
Tough if muslims are enraged.....they can stop supporting and creating bastions of terrorists worldwide for a start. Better yet stop practicing Islam altogether.
America should put Americans first on the payroll.
I watched - it was amazing and wonderful...
The NJ governor was just over in India talking jobs, and returned bragging about how many jobs NJ will see from the relationship. The problem is we’ll also import the Indians to fill them; NJ has a lot, with more coming every day. Our attorney general is of Indian descent, as is the mayor of Hoboken.
NJ is Ground Zero for “The Great Replacement” going on in this country; Americans aren’t just fleeing the state because of high taxes, but they are being forced out as their jobs are turned over to foreigners - they can’t afford to stay. Housing developments built within the last few decades for middle-class Americans are rapidly becoming Indian-only; they have the jobs once held by the former residents. Outsourcing non-manufacturing jobs to Asia isn’t even necessary anymore; they traffick the workers here instead, where they’ll have a more reliable power grid and infrastructure.
We don’t need “US-India investments”; sadly, Trump is reflecting the growing number of Indians who now vote here.
I did too....everyone was excited and glad to be there. It was great to watch! They sure gave Trump a great reception!
The best word is “replacing” - they are replacing the American middle class in NJ, and it isn’t just in tech. They are removing American workers from the financial sector now.
And the medical field. Levels of health care to plummet as the normally good caring and well-trained and well-hygiened Filipina nurses are replaced by Indians.
The American Hospital Association are concerned.
The AHA expressed concerns with the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act (S. 386/H.R.1044), legislation that would eliminate the per-country cap for immigrant visas. Eliminating the per-county cap would have a crippling effect on hospitals and health systems because the foreign-trained nurses we need each year to fill critical nursing jobs then would be reduced by 77% to 100% over the next five years and beyond, the association said in a letter to the Senate. If this happens, health care for Americans would clearly suffer. In rural areas and inner cities, we simply wont have fully-staffed hospitals. If Congress chooses to change the structure of legal immigration processing in S. 386 and H.R.1044, the AHA asks that the health care needs of our patients be addressed by an amendment. This addition would provide a carve-out from visa caps for a reasonable number of immigrant nurses each year and provide immediate immigrant visas to foreign-born physicians when they complete their training and community service.
I thought only the fake indian had big rallies of hundreds of people showing up.
Indian-Americans are creating countless high tech and high knowledge jobs in this country. It's easy to see when you look at who is leading the successful companies in the telecom sector I follow as an analyst.
What was impressive about this rally was to see the leaders of the two largest free republics of the world in unison about the future!
Trump's arrival at this event and a follow on meeting at an Australian owned plant in Ohio with PM Morrison of Australia are events being closely watched in CHINA!
Trump is sending the message: America is strengthening its bonds with countries who believe in RECIPROCAL TRADE.
Be careful, President Xi, your nation will be left in the cold unless you begin to treat foreign nations -- and Hong Kong -- with respect and reciprocity. Your evil CCP party will be utterly destroyed in the next several years unless you turn a new leaf.
Here's the YouTube video which will knock your socks off seeing the size of the crowd. The people in the audience were enjoying themselves.

Between the Indian and Chinese or East Asians, I happen to believe the real future of the US is something Asian.
This is good. The indian community in the USA is highly educated, wealthy and job creators. Also socially conservative. If Trump can convince them that the GoP is not against them “racially”, then he gets a sure constituency for the GoP for the future
The thing is that Modi was exonerated by the Indian courts - who might be slow but are acknowledged as impartial.
There was zero proof he was involved or even condoned the killing of Muslims.
What seems to have happened was
1. There was a group of In February 2002, thousands of devotees of Rama (known as “Ramsevaks” or “Kar Sevaks”) had gone from Gujarat to Ayodhya at the behest of the Vishva Hindu Parishad to take part in a ceremony called the Purnahuti Maha Yagna.
0.a. Ayodhya is the birthplace of the Hindu god Ram. There was a temple there for centuries until it was destroyed by the Mughal Emperor Babar and he built a mosque on top of it (think Hagia Sophia only if it was holier for all Christians).
0.b. In 1993 Hindu “sevaks” destroyed the mosque. The Muslims had refused to move the mosque so that Hindus could re-build a temple there
2. Muslims found out about this
3. At the train stop at Godhra, they attacked the train. Some . 59 people including 27 women and 10 children were burnt to death, when the train carriages were set on fire.
4. After that there were anti-Muslim riots
5. Modi was the Chief minister of that nation, the Gujaratis, the state of Gujarat, at that time.
6. He sent police and troops to stop the riots.
7. They came and stopped it, but people had been killed.
Many of the folks at the rally look like second-generation Americans of Indian origin. What “home” do you want them to go to?
Also, if they are naturalized citizens, coming to the US legally, they are “home”.
