Um....no. But it makes for a great soundbite and ties the rats to gun confiscation. Since none of Dummy’s opponents said anything about this, Trump will use it to his advantage in 2020.

More likely he is rubbing Beto’s nose in it, making dems think he (POTUS) was all ready to support some kind of gun control, until Beto went waaay over the top. In other words, he’s trolling democrats...again.
No, Trump is a master at trolling the left and at appealing to both sides. Trump never was going to infringe on the 2nd Amendment. He was open to things that would help identify the mentally ill. He was demonstrating to centrist Democrats that he is a reasonable man with their interests in heart. Then at the earliest golden opportunity (the left always give him one), he found an idiot Commie Rat to let him off the hook.
So his message to the centrist Democrats he needs for re-election is “I am really trying to help you out here but your Democrat reps are making that impossible. You need to stop voting for such exteme Democrats, so I can help you out here.”
It is all an act. Trump will not infringe the 2nd Amendment. Not only has he not done so but he has not proposed doing so.
