The Log Cabin Republicans endorsed President Trump's 2020 reelection bid on Friday, nearly four years after the conservative LGBT organization declined to endorse then-candidate Trump in 2016.
The group said its national board of directors voted to endorse Trump after consulting with its chapters across the country.
Log Cabin Republicans Chairman Robert Kabel and Vice Chairwoman Jill Homan argued in a Washington Post op-ed on Friday that Trump has helped remove LGBTQ rights as a wedge issue in the GOP, citing his administration's policies on ending the spread of HIV/AIDS as well as his push to get other countries to conform to modern human rights standards.
The leaders also cited Trump's appointment of Richard Grenell, who is openly gay, as U.S. ambassador to Germany.

Just heard this on the news. I’m not surprised. Even homosexuals like a good economy.
LCR only cares about one thing.
Promoting the Gay Lifestyle.
If Butt was doing better in the polls, they would be backing (into) him.
So they figured out that the “T” in “LGBT” really means Trump.
Not bad for a “hater”...
This is a good indicator it’s all over for Pete.
The Log Cabin Republicans remind me of something a theater director (and good friend) said to me back in the 1980s.
As you can imagine, he had plenty of experience working with gays.
His conclusion: “There are two types of gay people. There’s the ones who are cool about it. And then there’s the other kind.”
Lately, we’ve been hearing way too much from the “other kind,” whom I believe are sometimes referred to here at FR as “homofascists.”
The problem with the LGBTQ ... whatever ... movement is that it has already accomplished its initial objective, i.e. toleration and non-interference.
The problem with socio-cultural movements is that people in leadership gain money and power from the continuation of he “struggle.”
That’s why you never hear, “OK troops, we’ve won, let’s all go home.”
The Opposition Party loves People who throw Gay People off tall Buildings.
This should be a no brainer.
Didn’t even know they were still around.
interesting that the national org FIRST consulted with local chapters and THEN did what the local chapters recommended ... not many national orgs five a flying flip about what their rank and file really want ...
also interesting that they went from no endorsement in 2016 to endorsement for 2020 ... yet one more of many, many positive signs for Trump ...
We just moved from Southern Ca to Mississippi.
I’ve met just as many Gays and Lesbians here than I met in CA.
The thing is, nobody cares. They don’t push their Lifestyle, they are just nice and polite like most everyone I’ve met living in the South.
It’s live and let live here, with Constitutional Carry. LOL
Who is that?
Richard Simmons.
Oh, come on.
That’s nutty @ss “physical instructor” Richard Simmons.
He also had a small reoccurring role on the soap opera General Hospital in the 80s.
As you can see, he’s gayer than fairy dust.
Most of them are homo-ners so they have money and like to keep it.
Yawn.
Actually, I believe that’s Mr Goodbody.
Of course, it depends upon how your were first introduced to him.
I’ve heard that as a group, homosexuals have higher than average incomes, and higher than average disposable income. Economically they are doing well.
Trump gets it.
If you want to win, you have to split up the leftist coalition of women, minorities, gays, gov workers, etc.
