You can claim oversimplification all you like, I am telling you what the results will be...
If you think the GOP will see great turnout if they fail to confirm Kavanaugh, you are only fooling yourself.
If the GOP fails to confirm Kavanaugh, when they have the majority, their turnout will crater... especially considering the flagrant and transparent behavior of the Dems... they will indeed be judged useless and their turnout will crater.
You can try to rationalize it away all you like, but just like the Dems behavior these past 2 weeks has fired up and engaged the electorate... failure to confirm Kavanaugh will just as equally depress it.
One of the hardest lessons I had to learn, being an engineer and more facts and figures based is that politics is far far more emotion than anything else... pretending that reason will solely counter and dismiss it is a fools errand.
If you believe that the GOP can fail to confirm Kavanaugh, in the shadow of the transparent character asassination they will be seen as useless by a good segment of the electorate who prior to that would have held them up, will indeed walk away.
Simply irrational to pretend that 2 or 3 out of 51 Senators equals the entire GOP; I am so tired of the childish (or senile) hysterics on so many of these threads. Rational, persistent patriotism is what is necessary to hold one’s ground and never give up.
