Is he planning on switching parties? Otherwise, why attack two of the most popular officials of his own party?

I love the effect that President Trump has on RINOs and GOPes. Every little thing he says or does flushes them out into the open. Now all that remains is (metaphorically speaking) for a hunter to pick them off.

Sheriff Joe was tried and convicted by the petty vindictive leftist obama/RINO regime, for actually enforcing the law.

A full Presidental pardon is the least that we can do.

I remember a book drive with my kids a long time ago. It went like this: Buy these massively overpriced crappy books and 5% of what you spend will go to the school fund (or something like that). While my wife was rounding up the $100 to buy the books from the twerps, I stopped her, gave her a $20, and told her to drop it off it at the school, for their fund.

Same thing here. You have a bill that gives $17B in aid to NJ, but costs the government $50B - there are two ways to respond: The adult way, like Cruz did, or the CHILDISH way, that Christie did.

...and trust me, I’m no fan of Cruz, given his behavior with Trump, and he’s not getting my vote in our Primary next year either.

I have no love for Christie - refusing to vote for him last time. But Ted has a habit of getting himself into sticky situations. It makes me laugh.

I’m fully expecting a back-stab if he has to appoint someone to fill Menendez’s seat.

Given that New Jersey has a gubernatorial election this November, if Menendez were to leave his seat after Aug. 30, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie could be able to name a replacement who would not face voters until November 2018.

Where did "contrition" enter into this. Hamilton's argument for pardons in Federalist Paper #74 is:

"without an easy access to exceptions in favor of unfortunate guilt, justice would wear a countenance too sanguinary and cruel."

The phrase here is "unfortunate guilt" not "contrition," and Arpaio's circumstance would seem to fit this more nearly than say a "contrite" cop-murdering drug dealer.

How can he show contrition when he’s innocent? The judge that convicted him should show contrition for abusing his position to go on a witch hunt.

And Christie should show contrition for being a moron and a wind bag.

I think the hurricane was bringing up bittersweet memories of Sandy and his tender embrace with Obama, and he was feeling a bit melancholy.

The New Jersey Governor needs to reread the Constitution, starting with the clear statement of the intent of the framers:

We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Why should the Sheriff be "contrite" for favoring that "Posterity," over those in America illegally? So, he used common sense to track down the illegals? Is that a reason to be contrite? Does he need to accept the Judge's apparent bias as the "rule of law," even when it is offered as somehow trumping what the Constitution obviously intends?
