White House Chief Strategist Stephen Bannon condemned white nationalist "clowns" in an interview Wednesday, but continued to hit Democrats over "identity politics", saying if they talked about race every day he could ensure Republican election victories.
“The Democrats, the longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em," the former head of Breitbart told The American Prospect in an interview. "I want them to talk about racism every day."
"If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats,” he added.
Bannon's comments came after a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. turned violent over the weekend, resulting in one death and at least 19 injuries.
Bannon went on to dismiss the white nationalists who rallied in the college town as "clowns" who had been played up by the media. Bannon conceded that the White House did, however, need to play a bigger role in marginalizing white nationalist influence.
“These guys are a collection of clowns,” Bannon said. “Ethno-nationalism—it's losers. It's a fringe element. I think the media plays it up too much, and we gotta help crush it, you know, uh, help crush it more." Bannon's job at the White House has reportedly been at risk in recent days as pressure builds on President Trump to dump the nationalist wing of his coalition.
Reuters cited three White House officials earlier Wednesday who said that Bannon could be demoted by Trump, who they described as "nervous" about the blowback from punishing Bannon.
"The president obviously is very nervous and afraid of firing him," a source told Reuters on Wednesday.

Bannon is smart, and he knows their identity politics and support of SJW type of behavior has cost them many seats, including the Presidency.

Bannon and Trump definitely want to distract the immature Unitardparty with whatever twists their dainty panties in a wad. This time, it will involve the kkk/antifa/blm debacle.
I have read they are crying on the ‘Hill’. They cannot handle the ‘truth’, upsets their swamp gasses.
Yes, Bannon is smart, as is Trump, and that’s why I don’t understand any Republican who buys into this crap about how they represent something that the party can’t abide. Bannon is absolutely right, let the Democrats scream and yell about identity politics, while Trump goes about building an economic future for the country. We all know who will win that.

This also should apply to any public figure that supports Democrats or Democrat policies publicly.
The apologies should be sincere and convincing enough each time so we know they are really really sorry. And they should not be half-way done apologies that try to share blame with anyone else.
If any Republican is not completely satisfied with any such apology, the person ought be subject to fines and mandatory counseling, and should not be allowed to hold office as they are obviously a hopelessly racist bigot.
There shall be no mercy, no exceptions, and even if they make sincere apologies, if any Republican anywhere did not happen to hear it, it doesn't count, and they should be summarily assumed a racist pig.
Now is the time for POTUS DJT to go big. Implement big plans, now. Be bold. Be strong. Go for it, now. NOW!

I think Bannon is 100% right about this. The MSM is going full throttle to pain Trump as a racist by distorting his statements. People have become more sophisticated about their tricks. They will give it the 24/7/365 “Russia” treatment, which will make many people on the fence tired and skeptical of it.
Further, you will have the activists that overreach, trying to tear down every Confederate statue/plaque and rename every building. And they won’t stop with the Confederacy. The will be emboldened to go after anything named for Washington, Jefferson, and (ultimately) any White man. This will not go over well.
The Democrats are tripling-down on the strategy that cost them the White House, Congress, numerous governorships and state legislatures.

I know Drudge has been worried about the Internet/Deep State censors coming for his site, but this degree of roll over is shameful. Matt’s made more than enough millions already and ought to have more integrity than he is showing now.
