In the late 70s and early 80s, I was a big fan of Commentary, Irving Krystol’s magazine. They had moved from being socialists to being moderately pro-Republican, because of the Israel issue mostly. There were conservative ideas expressed in their magazine, but it was globalist in outlook. Globalism in those days was less offensive than now, it meant engaging the Soviet Union all over the world to prevent the Soviets from gaining influence and taking over the world. It didn’t mean replacing Americans in America and destroying our industry. It meant engagement, which is what Trump is doing now.
After the Soviets fell, that group of people started looking at the world as one big globally run enterprise. 9-11 gave them a lot of ability to put some of their ideas into practice. Obama was them on steroids.
Whatever they once were, they are now enemies of America. Bill Krystol is their propagandist.
