Donald Trump has become a white working-class symbol because he is the one who has returned them to prominence in American politics.
Unlike anyone Ive read or talked to since the November election, Justin Gest has helped me to really understand why President Trump won white working-class voters and hasnt thus far lost their support. In the latest episode of Cape Up, we discuss the George Mason University professors new book, The New Minority: White Working Class Politics in an Age of Immigration and Inequality
So much of Donald Trumps politics is symbolic, Gest explained. Theyre symbolic in the sense that this is what people want to hear and if it doesnt get done, its almost beside the point because hes elevating the prerogatives of his constituents to the national stage after having been relegated to the fringes of American politics for decades.(continued)

What’s the reason the Washington Post continues to be owned by a white guy?
Also, it would appear that most of their senior editors are white people. Why is that?
And there’s a whole lot of us
So why does anyone shop Amazon and give this guy money?
He HATES us.
What? ... what?
because hes elevating the prerogatives of his constituents to the national stage after having been relegated to the fringes of American politics for decades.
And this is symbolic, how?
This Guy Ain’t White, he’s PINK!
Who is surprised when democrats block up the black, hispanic, LGTUBQRST, did I leave anyone out? voters, and a few normal Americans form a block (majority white) to counter the nonsense spewing from the Dems?
Dems hate their blocks add up to 28% and white block is 48%.
Whitie stilll has some pull, for now.
I’m pretty sure the Capehart guy is one of the staff tokens.
Just imagine if Whites votes in a block - 97% voting for the candidate that supports White values and interests. If the Blacks can vote in a block, why can't the Whites?
That day is coming...and the Liberals have no one to blame except for the Clintons and Obama. Enjoy the suck!
A benign but curious excerpt. Not gonna visit that cesspool.

Excellent point. Now consider...
Disney owns ABC. Comcast owns NBC. Time Warner owns CNN. CBS itself.
Bezos is just one man with a narrow market. The aforementioned parent companies are far more entrenched in the marketplace. But absolutely NO ONE speaks to this basic fact. These parent companies are pissing in our shoes, and nobody gives a damn.
Everyone else will have to make their own choices but I prefer not to give my business to people who hate me.
Symbolic: I like the symbolic deportations of thousands of illegals. I like the symbolic nomination of a conservative Supreme Court justice. I like the symbolic cuts to big government regulations. I like the symbolic cuts in the scope of big government. I like the symbolic love for our country. I like the symbolic exit from the Paris Accord. I’m just not sure that “symbolic” means what we think it means.
The Dems cobble together that bloc by attacking hetero whites; why shouldn’t those whites look for representation. Obama ruled as though this is a black country, completely ignoring the issues facing the whites who fund everything.
Easy: Because they WORK.
I don’t.
I used to, not anymore.
I use Amazon like a Sears Catalog.
Find what I want and read reviews, then I search and find its seller’s websites. Usually same price or less and free shipping.
I don’t give Bezos a dime.
Cancelled Prime three years ago.
Refuse to use any of the other products.
He wants to be the head of a global empire.
He is evil.
“I dont give Bezos a dime.”
I’m working on weaning myself off Amazon. Spent $280 with another company yesterday, plus the company gave me a 20% discount and included free shipping. Cheaper than Amazon.
I’ve used Amazon once or twice in the past.
It’s just a fulfillment outfit, straight middle man. The product even came from another third party fulfillment center, Amazon was just the redirect interface.
Talk about a worthless “service”.
Reverse the court decision that prevents the states from adding sales tax to his deliveries and watch the business case collapse.
