Even in politics, the rich get richer. Take President Trump.
Fresh off a big victory with the House passage of an ObamaCare repeal, Trump is also getting lucky again in his enemies. Hillary Clinton is baaack and ready to rumble.
Politico reports she is launching a new group to raise money for the resistance to Trump’s presidency. The group will be called Onward Together, and Clinton is said to be meeting with donors to form a board of directors.
Her cadre of unemployed hangers-on must be thrilled to have a new slush fund, but most Dems are probably thinking, “Haven’t we suffered enough?”
With the party demoralized and divided, and holding the fewest number of elected seats in a century, Clinton’s return will likely prolong the misery. While she’s a media magnet, she’s also a political dead end, having lost two presidential runs and ceded the future to the Bernie Sanders’ socialist wing.
It’s hard to imagine her as the party’s savior, yet, instead of going away quietly, she’ll be competing with its candidates for money and attention. Anything she gets will come at the expense of new leaders and ideas.
On the other hand, what’s bad for Dems is great for Trump. Clinton’s decision to jump back into partisan politics is a gift to the president.
With polls showing little buyers’ remorse over the election, any contrast between the sitting president and his defeated opponent favors him. Especially because Clinton is stuck in the same tiresome blame game that helped cost her the election.
After weeks of inching her way back, she gave an interview last week at a Women for Women event. Her explanation for why she lost shows that the new Hillary is the same as the old Hillary....

She’s not someone who deserves any sort of sympathy, but if she were, you’d almost have to feel sorry for her. She’s an old lady who failed miserably at something (twice) and she just can’t let it go and move on with her life. She’s so drunk with ambition and crazed for power that she refuses to accept reality and will likely spend her remaining days on earth plotting and scheming to somehow win the presidency. She’s like the Captain Ahab of politics.

If she is alive she’ll run.
That’s why she installed one of her lackeys as DNC chair. The superdelegates are already in her pocket.
She’s not running. Period. This is all about the Clinton “brand” and keeping the Democrat party from slipping completely out of their faction’s (Clinton family and allies) control. In the 1990’s the Clintons were the upstarts who had to battle the Kennedy faction of the party. Today they have strong competition form the Obama faction and even pestering from the hard line socialists/communists of Sanders & Fellow Travelers.

Well said. Any normal person with compromised health would quietly retire and spend their remaining time living decently. She is such a vile creature. And those who support her are like cult members.

I agree re: keeping alive the Clinton “brand,” as corrupt, immoral, and criminal as it is. Raise cash from and keep the hard Left in your camp, all to prepare Chelsea Webbdottir’s run for political office.
Of course she is. She needs a new group now to scam people out of their money since donations to the Clinton Foundation have suddenly dried up. Funny how that happened. Wonder what caused the sudden decline ? Of course this PAC will run just like the Clinton Foundation - 98% of the money will go towards "expenses".
