The mainstream media is obsessed with how Trump is changing the GOP. But the real transformation in American politics is happening in the Democratic Party.
This week, newly minted Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez will travel cross-country with Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Keith Ellison on a Democratic Party “unity tour” that will take them to Maine, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, Nebraska, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada—mostly red states that Trump won.
The purpose of their road trip, dubbed the “Come Together And Fight Back Tour,” is to shore up a badly fractured Democratic Party and present some semblance of a united opposition to the Trump administration. (The tour is selling T-shirts that boast, “I’m one of 65,844,610 Americans against Trump.”)
Whatever the merits of hawking anti-Trump shirts and uber-progressive talking points in Grand Prairie, Texas, the fact that Perez feels the need to embark on such a tour with Sanders and Ellison in tow speaks volumes about the transformation of the Democratic Party under Obama.
Put simply, this is Sanders’ party now. The avowed socialist’s insurgent presidential campaign last year exposed a sclerotic Democratic Party leadership woefully out of touch with its progressive base—a base that was at times openly hostile to the party’s designated heir apparent, Hillary Clinton, and completely uninterested in appeals to the white working class.
Recall that Sanders made economic populism the centerpiece of his campaign, and some of his rhetoric on that score mirrored Trump’s. But his most fervent supporters were always more interested in socialism and identity politics—free college and amnesty for illegal immigrants—than bringing manufacturing jobs back to the Rust Belt....

I don’t see much need to discuss this. The Dems are going to go left, left, left out of the crowning disappointment of HRC’s electoral defeat. This ideological momentum is probably going to last for years out of Clinton idolatry.
This guy Perez is quite simply a flaming radical, and that he deputizes Ellison is all that need be observed. This is a party core that will never connect with more than a few splinters the Dem party has traditionally stitched together; and if they do, the nation goes full on Marxist and we’re done. Maybe they get closer to the college-sophomore crowd but they are never going to connect with vast swaths of ordinary Americans. If they somehow manage to kill off all those ordinary Americans or import millions of foreigners who have no allegiance to nor respect for anything resembling the American body of tradition, then so be it. But I don’t see it happening soon. It *could* happen in 20 years, say. Just like American became so sick of Jimmy Carter that the Repubs were in power for 20 years. These things move in cycles and maybe it moves back towards the left in 2036. But this radical crew isn’t going to attract any more folks than it repels except as the older people die off or become statistically outnumbered.

Sanders - Avowed Marxist/socialist
Perez - Hardcore leftist supporting illegal immigration as a way to chance American into a majority Hispanic country with a significant Moslem population. Very anti-white.
Ellison - A combination of Marxist, Islamic and Black Extremist. I don’t think he likes anyone very much. A real psycho who should be the subject of many major psychological studies on mental illness on the Left.

They used to be the working class Union party. But now they are the non-white party driven by identity politics and no unifying message for working Americans and their families. They have become the govt program hand out party. Buy volts. Once you get 50%+ Dependant on Govt then you have a defeat proof majority. Single payer health care and free college re the next steps which go beyond old and poor people

How can INDEPENDENT Bernie Sanders be featured in a Democratic “Unity” tour?
Democrats are leftists. Leftists were responsible for the deaths of somewhere in the neighborhood of a hundred million people last century, and they continue to leave a wake of death and destruction wherever they go. The only change in recent years is that their mask slipped off, but they really don’t care.

Today's DemocRATs are following the same path. We should never assume that it can't happen here: any GOPer that refuses to accept the possibility that the 'Rats wouldn't hesitate to assume dictatorial powers if given the chance needs to be primaried.
