President Obama claims he is 'confident' he could have beaten Trump in 2016

Black turnout for Hillary was terrible, and most election analysts say that if she'd gotten the same black turnout that Obama did, she would have won. If Obama had been able to run for a third term, the black turnout would have been there and he probably would have won. We should celebrate Trump's win, but we can't get complacent - there's work to do if this is to be an 8 year presidency.

That is correct. The only chance Trump would have had would be if he attacked Obama's lies and disastrous policies in such a way that it alienated a big enough chunk of his voting base, they way exposing Hillary's criminality alienated hers. I'm not sure Obama's voters are subject to reason, and a lot of them just didn't care about Hillary.
