My gut worry about the polling shift toward Donald Trump (Boo-hoo)

For example, Trump has resisted the temptation to talk extensively about Clinton's pneumonia, instead staying focused on the "basket of deplorables" comment that he and his team clearly believe works to his advantage. He has gotten more attention for his positive policy messages. He even pulled off a non-embarrassing meeting with the president of Mexico.

Trump can talk about Hillary's health issues in such a way that even the media would have a hard time spinning it. For instance, he could say that he wishes Hillary the best with her on-going health issues, the coughing, fainting, and so on, then segue into a discussion of how demanding the campaign trail is. He can leave it to voters to make the connection, while showing nothing but concern for Hillary's health.

Meanwhile, the backseat pundits are spreading the really damaging information. Trump should not speculate about possible Parkinson's or other neurological issues at all.

As for the meeting with the Mexican president, Trump came off as quite presidential, as he has many times during the campaign. When there was a terrorist incident in France during the primaries, Trump immediately got on CNN and made statements, while Obama couldn't be bothered to tear himself away from his golf game. IIRC, none of the other candidates issued immediate statements.

Most importantly, he's so far avoided a repeat of the sorts of episodes that seemed to be most damaging to him in the campaign: When he attacked a low-profile person on the basis of religion or ethnicity, as he did with Khizr Khan and Gonzalo Curiel.

In these cases, Trump was responding to attacks. And he was shining light on a problem that the left will not acknowledge: that it is okay for minorities to be racist/sexist/bigot/etc., but not whites (especially males). While the media tried to spin Trump's counterattacks as bigotry, it is not, in fact, bigoted to point out that a minority seems to be motivated by racism. Politically incorrect, yes, but not bigoted.

My concern is that he gets ahead and Hillary has another incident, and they replace her with someone and shake this thing all up again.

I have that fear, too.

And now everybody who doesn't want him to be president is trying to figure out why — and whether he's going to keep gaining.

Trump is campaigning better, but there was also some mystery in why Hillary jumped so much in the polls to begin with.

That's an awful lot of navel-gazing, and I think this is a much more likely answer: to know Hillary is to loathe her, and familiarity has bred contempt. She is, simply put, a hostile, bitter, charmless, arrogant, rude, entitled, foul-mouthed, mannerless harridan who has lied and bullied her way into possession of one of the greatest criminal organizations ever to infest the American body politic and even now, at this late stage of the campaign, with Trump having taken the lead, her principal concern is touching up the obscenely wealthy for money rather than the public for votes. That is a losing combination.

Hillary and her handlers thought they could run a campaign by spending other people's money and positioning herself as not-Trump. Trump's campaign has found that having established a sold base of policy positions and watching his opponent make an utter fool of herself, not-Hillary is a natural and easy position to take because she's given it to them.

There is one more major factor, and to the cynical it sounds dated and stilted, which may be part of the problem, but it is this: Trump loves his country and his people and Hillary loves neither. To her we are a glob of clay to be molded into a future that mirrors her staggering ego. That isn't unusual among progressive politicians, including the sitting President, but it's a very bad idea to let the marks know what the game is. At some point we fight back.

If there are any terrorist attacks between now and the election, which is very likely, Trump’s numbers should go permanently up beyond Hillary’s.

Doubt they don't want to give Trump more ammo

Another establishment guy who doesn’t get it. Americans (and all humans really) operate mostly on visuals. Scott Adams is right about that. Dukakis lost when he had his picture taken in the tank. Hillary lost when she did her Weekend at Bernie’s impression at the 911 memorial. People will find whatever reasons they need to vote for Trump. They won’t vote for or against him based on this guy’s conscerns.

By October it will look like Trump is running unopposed. Heck! It looks like that now. And the NeverTrumpers will all be thinking and saying and fearing the Trump landlside.

That worries me as well. If they drop a Biden or Bernie in at the last minute, the media would rejoice that the masses have a candidate that they can all love now. Big trouble.

I wonder what happens to the early votes she receives if she has to withdraw say soon after the debates. Are they just lost votes?

"My concern is that he gets ahead and Hillary has another incident, and they replace her with someone and shake this thing all up again."

He should try this (given that illary probably can't make it through one, much less three debates):

Trump-"In consideration of Secretary Clinton's delicate condition, I am proposing that we scale back to one debate, held between 15 and 25 October."

If she accepts, she tacitly acknowledges that she's messed up and Trump proceeds to grind her into the dirt.

If she demurs, Trump smokes her three times and the chances of her face planting during a debate go way up.

Ever since HRC, may she rest in peace, described his supporters as a “basket of adorables” everybody wants into the big Basket or as Cruz would say: “ring”.

Just keep hammering away about Hillary's hiding her health problems. Why didn't she go to the hospital after collapsing? She couldn't have been having a hard attack for all they knew. Who treated her dehydration? Why did her body lock up and they had to toss her head first into the van? What isn't she telling us?

While that would be a nice tactic, it also gives hiLIARy an out to most of the debates.

The Globalists have put up their patsies for the GOP so when these debates come up the Republican candidate is guaranteed to cave eventually in some manner during the debates.

With Donald Trump he will fight them tooth and nail and is uncontrollable so they have no clue how these debates will turn out. The left will do their best to control the narrative but without a willing patsy, they have no clue how it will turn out and it will probably turn out bad for hiLIARy.

It’s not about either.

It’s not about Clinton having a few bad weeks.

It’s not about better management of Trump.

It’s about the media whores being forced to reluctantly give up the ghost and report some true things.

It’s only 7 weeks until the election, and their time of reporting whatever they want is coming to an end.

Starting about now, the media pundits look pretty foolish if they continue to predict the opposite of what everyone knows is going to happen.

“If Trump gets enough votes from whites, he can win the election.”

“...and Clinton’s numbers might bounce back when she gets back on the campaign trail and back on message.”

When Non-Hispanic whites were little children, we were told stories about evil witches. It’s REALLY DIFFICULT to see how Hillary could ever reach them.
