Donald Trump taps into manufacturing regions to extract Democratic voters
The Manchester Guardian ^ | July 3, 2016 | Ben Jacobs in Steubenville, Ohio

The Ohio river valley was once a foundation of the American economy, and of the Democratic party.

For decades, coal- and steel-producing areas in south-east Ohio and south-west Pennsylvania voted Democrat. Union workers, supporting the party of organized labor, counted on steady and well-paid jobs.

But the US coal industry has been unable to survive major shifts in the world economy and steel has been subject to mechanization. In recent years, those steady jobs have disappeared.

This has turned the region into ripe territory for Donald Trump. In the Pennsylvania Republican primary, the billionaire won a crushing victory, sweeping the Appalachian part of the valley. In Ohio, the valley was the only area he won against the state’s governor and favorite son, John Kasich....

The Democrats have spent eight years completely lying about the economy. This election, they may find reality difficult to contain.

DO NOT ignore the 18 to 35s. They love obama by 2 to 1 margin and if they show up bigger than those over 45, we will lose.

We need EVERYONE to vote. If you have an elderly relative that can’t get out, get an absentee ballot for them NOW.

MAKE SURE all of your friends vote and talk those jerkoff (i know some) conservatives who wont vote for Trump out of some assanine misguided sense of “honor” that hillary will leave NOTHING LEFT!!

Trump might get a higher percentage of Democrat votes than R Reagan, our last good president..

Funny that this article didn't mention that Obama, Hillary and the democrats are dedicated to closing down the coal industry.

I have relatives in Ohio. They are democrats and past Hillary supporters. They regularly elect the same democrats that put them out of work. They believe any BS that is told to them by a democrat/leftist. This is what they have told me themselves. That they voted for Hillary and believe Michael Moore.

I think Trump has a real good shot at picking up both states. Unless Philly wards vote 150% of registered voters this time.

I don’t think you people realize how slick the slime balls are. They canvas neighborhoods like NE Philly (they already had your name and address) and if you told them you were already registered as a Republican, they’d simply re-register you as a Democrat and that you moved to like North or West Philly. Most people would rather not vote than go to 22nd and Diamond into the ghetto and vote.

Fact is in the ghetto wards they don’t ever have a Republican poll watcher because it’s simply not safe there and I’ve personally seen them hold the door to keep them out. Then they simply pull the lever over and over again and they aren’t so bright so that’s how their voting goes over 100% and then of course no one investigates how it happened afterwards.

That thinking is defeatist. they massively went for Sanders, indicating they weren't happy with Obama and what he was offering. They've been slammed down, humiliated and ignored by the rigged Democratic nomination process. We need to win them over, or at the worst, have them staying home election day.

They've grown up without job security, with massive debt, and in fear of their lives because the Obama/hillary foreign policy set the world on self destruct. Their childrens education has been taken over by the feds.

Get out there and campaign on these points! They're ready for accepting positively our discussion.

Sanders voters think obama wasn’t left enough!

My nephew and his friends think socialism is one big joke.

They fear Christian extemism more than muslim extremism.

I think we need to win the WH and reeducate the next generation.

Only one out of four nephews thinks that way. But he’s in with a crowd that all does and I can’t say what I want to do to them.

They’ve been soaked by the faggot pulpit and the hatred o f Christians AND the US. We have a lot of work ahead of us.

I like smashing sense into their heads more but i’ll try your idea first and campaign :)

If you can't win them over, encourage them not to vote at all. Keep reminding them how the nomination was stolen from Sanders before the first primary ballot was cast. <^..^>

They need to keep in mind that Sanders and Trump identify a lot of the same problems. They have different approaches about how to solve them. Then there's the supporters who prefer hillary to Trump....Romney, McCain, the Bush Dynasty, the list goes on. Another point....the best way to "clean house", both political parties, is for hillary to lose.

We have so much to work with.

Funny you wrote that. I hate to say it because I don’t like degrading folks unless it’s to their face therefore giving them a chance to refute what I said.
Having said that, I don’t think many of them are very knowledgeable about anything political, except “yea that guys cool” when the know about the candidate or the issues. I believe most millennials just go along with the crowd.

I agree with what you wrote in this sense and I think it will work.

I don’t believe most millennials even know what a super delegate is. I think the proper thing to do is explain to them what a super delegate is and also explain that you do realize that Hillary had every single SD wrapped up before the race even started.

Then tell them, “Do you think it is fair that Hillary gets to start on the 50 yard line when the Bern has to run the whole 100 yards.”
Ask them would you want to start or have a race with those odds. Sanders was robbed and cheated from the beginning. Hillary doesn’t care about you, she just wants to bring in more illegals and Muslims to take your job abd feed off you, leaving you the bill. Aren’t you in enough debt already.

I think you have to get them to vote for Trump as a protest vote against Hillary.

Or at the very least get them to stay home as a protest that no way can I vote for Hillary, because she cheated my guy from the beginning.

Another issue many of them understand is Common Core. Millenials are breeding. Making education local again is an issue that resonates.

IMO, at the very least if they dropped sex education, diversity and anti-white rhetoric and all the BS they teach and get back to teaching the younger ones at least the basic reading writing and arithmetic without a calculator I might add. That would be a great improvement.
Plus bringing back the pledge of allegiance to the flag might encourage love of country vs hating their country.
Simple things initially would make me happy.
