As Donald Trump flew in to Scotland today after the UK's seismic break with the European Union, parallels have been drawn with the anti-immigration message that led to Brexit and his rise to presumptive Republican presidential candidate.
Many have pointed out the similarities between Britain's decision to leave the EU and Trump's campaign - and believe it is an indication of how Americans will vote on November 8, which could see Trump in the White House.
The Donald's arrival in the UK will be seen by many as a meeting of minds - two worlds colliding with shared views including a disgruntled electorate; lost national pride; isolationism; and the issue of immigration.
However, he may not get the desired reception in Scotland: while voters in England and Wales swung the result for Leave, Scots voted overwhelmingly for remaining part of the EU.
And today, he promised close ties between the U.S. and UK if he becomes President, saying: 'A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense'.

It’s not proof. It’s a good sign, but it’s not proof.
We have to be smart enough to vote our way out of our globalist government bondage, or we are going to look like fools like Scotland.
This not only means that Trump must be elected, but it also means that Wisconsin has to be smart enough to jettison Mullah Ryan.
I’m not sure Wisconsin is anywhere near that smart.
Show me, Wisconsin.
Brexit won in part because of those quaint paper ballots that preserve voter sentiment. In the US, we’ve progressed beyond that. Wrong-thinking votes can be corrected electronically.
Its proof that the leaders of Britain and possibly the US are failing to gauge the public’s mood. The polls were wrong, the expert political commentators were wrong, the markets were wrong and the politicians were wrong.
Brexit will get Hillary a lot more campaign money. Those who want cheap labor and free trade now have proof that citizens can vote for change in the citizens favor against the “elites”.
In fact, in honor of the courageous vote of our friends across the pond yesterday, I am going to fly my virtual British flag!
I have no idea what the polls are showing but I heavily doubt these fools will vote him out. I say fools because how could any rational conservative ever vote for him.
Not necessarily proof he WILL be but proof he SHOULD be the next President. Good omens anyway.
