Sen. Marco Rubio is sticking by his former attack line that Donald Trump can't be trusted with the nuclear codes, despite having previously come around to support Trump as the nominee.
In an interview with The Weekly Standard, Rubio reaffirmed his statement from February — when he was still in the throes of a nasty primary battle — that America can't give "the nuclear codes of the United States to an erratic individual."
"I stand by everything I said during the campaign," Rubio said on Thursday.
Rubio's wobbly support of Trump comes after the presumptive Republican nominee's comments about Judge Gonzalo Curiel's Mexican heritage have caused a number of Republican lawmakers to rethink their endorsements of the billionaire....

Why don’t they publish the story about how, when President, Bill Clinton misplaced his nuclear code card? If he needed to launch, he couldn’t have, he misplaced his personal nuclear coded card.
Open season on Trump. He’s got to fight back or it’s over.

How do these freaks ever expect to get any support from the real base ever again? They have made themselves political lepers.
Trump is not a war monger from everything I’ve heard him say, unlike Hillary and a lot of the other GOP candidates.

Unless Trump gets trounced, which is a very real possibility. In which case people like Rubio will lead the charge to purge the party of Trumpism. That will be his mission, and he will have a lot of party support in doing it.
Rubio would be better off just shutting up since he is coming off as wishy washy, but make no mistake - if Trump gets clobbered the GOP is going to work to drive every last bit of Trump populism/protectionism out of the party. You can already see its begun, many of these people are just hoping Hillary wins and wins big so they can exact revenge on Trump and his supporters.
