The only presidential candidates who pick a VP based on abilities and competence are mediocrities like George W. Bush. The VP selection process is all about politics, and Newt Gingrich doesn't do a damn thing for Trump on that end.

There's nothing Gingrich does as Trump's VP that he couldn't do simply as a paid campaign advisor -- and then later as a senior White House advisor.

So, so wrong. Trump isn't about to surround himself with people who do not know how to maneuver thorough the Washington minutia.

Why would Trump want to select a light weight for a VP. Not going to happen. Would not be surprised if Trump picks Newt. Hope he does. Newt would have his back and he ability to get things done. Trump is the messenger, big ideas, connects with people, Newt would be the work horse to get things done. Although for Newt, because he is so so smart, it's nothing for him to get things done, day in a day out.
