The party is not going to be unified by shenanigans at the convention, especially nominating someone who didn’t even bother to campaign.

The only way the party will be unified is to avoid the convention shenanigans. That means someone has to come into the convention with more than enough delegates to lock down the nomination and prevent shenanigans.
I think the party will be unified come next Wednesday.
It might also help to stop calling Cruz supporters “idiot Hillary loving Cruzbots who hate America” who “Trump can do it without”.
