Donald Trump could be in "big trouble" if he doesn't cinch the GOP presidential nomination on the first ballot at the party's convention in July, GOP pollster John McLaughlin said Sunday.

In a "Cats Roundtable" radio interview with businessman and former GOP mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis in New York, McLaughlin said the front-runner "should win this on a first ballot."

The remarks begin at about the 42:37-minute mark.

"If he doesn’t, he’s in big trouble, because he’s been out-organized” by the campaign of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, McLaughlin said.

“You’ve got the Cruz campaign putting in people that may be bound to Trump on the first ballot, but on the second ballot they’re gonna leave Donald Trump," McLaughlin said....

There won’t be a 2nd ballot, Trump will win on the first.

You know who’s really in trouble no matter what happens to Trump on the first ballot?

Here’s a hint, he’s creepy, dishonest, 100% percent establishment, will be mathematically eliminated on Tuesday, and his name rhymes with “Head Bruise”

Any guesses?

Stephanopolos's round table this AM was interesting. They agreed that the system is rigged and that it's a problem that there are states like CO where voters didn't get to vote. Matthew Dowd and Mary Maitlin both said that there will be problem in Cleveland and the Republican Party as we know it is through. My point? I wonder if saner folks won't prevail and say that Trump is the nominee and salvage what they can.

My hypothesis that nobody has disputed is that if the nomination is stolen from Trump (it now qualifies as theft) it won't be hard for a million or many Trump supporters to get to Cleveland. Look how many have gotten out to his rallies at an easy driving distance from Cleveland.

At his press conference this morning, Donald Trump said he understood how bribing delegates worked, and with his assets, e.g. a beautiful Boeing 757 and Spa Resorts all over the country, he could beat the establishment at their own game. However, he considers this part of the corrupt system that needs to be changed.

So his slogan could just as well be: “Make America Good Again!”

That is interesting. On the CNN panel discussion this morning, the Bernie talking head and the Trump talking head were agreeing with each other profusely over the rigged nomination system in both parties.

You could see Hillary's talking head and Amanda Carpenter breaking out in a sweat. But the Bernie talking head was a black woman, and so, of course, they couldn't possibly disagree with her. LOL!

Trump's subtle outreach to Bernie voters on the rigged process might actually pay dividends down the the road. Bernie people hate Hillary as much as we do.

Amazing. No other Republican would have the imagination to even see it as an opportunity.

Roger that. GOP using a willing Cruz to do exactly what many GOP operatives admit to.

Give it a rest. If you are not in possession of something, it can’t be stolen from you. Unless and until Trump (D-NY) gets 1237 delegates, the nomination is not his.

NeverTrump makes the playing field unfair and thus taints any loss of the clear leader. Yes hes the one who is representative of the majority of the people. Party politics be dammed, you have one hell of a lot of very angry Americans if its taken from him under this crooked rigged nevertrump primary.
