Organizers of a rally for GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz at the Town and Country Resort in Mission Valley are expecting a full house on Monday night.
Reserved tickets for the 6:30 p.m. rally sold out in an hour.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. Prior to that, the U.S. senator is attending a private function in San Diego and will leave the city immediately after the rally.
Its unclear how many attendees are expected; organizers say theyre expecting more than 2,000 to attend. Theyll remove chairs from the ballroom if necessary to accommodate a larger crowd.
As of 1 p.m., there were no lines outside the venue.
While the GOP nomination is usually decided well before the Golden State votes, Californias 172 delegates will play an important role to see if any candidate can reach the required 1,237 delegates to clinch the nomination without a contested convention.
Californias primary election is June 7.
Will it be in Spanish? (the language that’s a heads-up for dumb)
2ndDivision is this a joke?
Sources say over 23,000 people requested tickets to the event As of 2:20, a long line of supporters was still lined up at the Rochester Tech Park, waiting to be shuttled to the main event site.
wow! a whole 2000?
Trump event for the People
The media REALLY WANT to promote Ted Cruz... which is the main reason I am against him.
Cruz uses this trick a lot.....finds a group who has been organizing an event for another purpose, wrangles an invite, then announces they all came to see him.
Straight reporting on a rally is promoting someone?
It wouldn’t surprise me if this turns out to be an astroturf event.
2000 is a HUGE rally for Cruz, but a small rally for Trump.
Cruz and his team put the CON in conservative.
Cruz is and always has been a Stealth Bush.
They’ll all be wasting their time watching a liar and cheat.
Oh yeah it’s the Establishment trying to pretend Cruz is not a low life gutter rat.
I swear I am gonna learn how to post pics. Not that I mind your pics if it makes you feel better.
My sources say over 23,000 people........are going to be schlonged.
If Trump had a rally where 2000 people showed, they would be announcing that his campaign was kaput.
Kind of funny that the article mentioned that at 1:00 there was no one in line. Why would they go early and wait in line for such a modest sized rally?
Most Republicans have jobs and cannot get in line for a political rally four hours before it is scheduled to begin.
