A most important issue that I haven't heard from any candidate is support for Constitutional amendments specifically targeting the 17th amendment and campaign finance limitations, and the Article V convention.
I haven't heard of any supporting organizations endorsing Trump or Cruz advocate Article V and the topics of the 17th and campaign limitations.
I haven't heard any news organizations even remotely broach the topic or question the candidates on any of those topics.
Seems to me as would-be conservatives, Trump, Cruz would be all over these questions. With position and analysis and their version of support.
Obviously Sanders and Clinton wouldn't want it as if almost any type of 17th reform through article V convention would diminish their fascist grip on voter issues and social reforms.
I think it's time that Trump and Cruz work this into their campaigns.
1. Amend the 17th and give the method of selection of Senators back to the States.
2. Disallow campaign donations to state candidates for any office from out of state entities.
With America:
nineteen trillion dollars in debt;
being overwhelmed by illegal immigration;
Having its military intentionally sissified by the commander in chief;
Losing influence and respect all around the world;
You want the candidates to prioritize your pet project - some irrelevant esoterica about the 17th Amendment?
You’ve got that right regarding Article V fanaticism.
Not to mention the Pandora’s box it opens up.
Besides, let’s be honest here.
What politician could ever truly be trusted to be in favor of relinquishing gov’t power and actually see it through?

I don’t think the Federal Government should have any say regarding state candidates.
Cruz is on the record supporting an Article V convention. Why do you think Mark Levin is so strong in his support of Cruz.
But this is simply not a leading element of the campaign.
Yeah, BUT..............
The idea is pushed by Mark Levin.
Mark has pi$$ed in the well with his fanatical opposition to Trump AND his supporters—now it turns out he gets BIG BUCKS “selling” his old (unsold) books to the GOPe, a likely campaign finance violation.
Relative working for Cruze............
Stinks, it does.
But this is simply not a leading element of the campaign.
It should be a leading issue. Should be brought up every stump speech if even for 30 seconds or so.
They're just not serious about it, just paying a very infrequent lip service by Cruz, and I've never heard any other candidate from July to today mention it and making it newsworthy.

Your list of problems we currently face is all the result of creeping Federalism, with states not having enough say on Federal matters. Huge disconnect with professional politicians in Washington who only represent themselves and those that can help them.
There is nothing Esoteric about the 17th amendment, and the Article V convention has been written about by Mark Levin and has actually passed some State Legistlatures.
Passage of the 17th amendment started the downfall of our Constitutional Republic and began our path to a Fascist Plutocracy.
Good reasoning.
I agree it would sink Cruz. Trump may be a different story. I think for Trump it could revitalize his campaign and help shore up some delegate problems. It would all be in the presentation. All he has to do is introduce it and then it’s just a 3 min portion of his standard stump.
Be less risky if he actually researched it first and see if it appeals to him.
