Why have primaries, so the media can sell political ads and make millions? Just let the RNC manipulate who gets to be President.
Romney is heading the stop Trump movement in Utah. Maybe Soros and Romney made a deal to stop Trump.
True. Priebus was stumbling unnecessarily over a simple answer, which is that the Convention is the Party assembled, it is the national governing body of the Party, it sets the rules, and it can change the rules if it wants. That's why the delegates matter, in theory, although it has been a long time since it mattered in practice.
The RNC itself, the RNC's rules, and the jobs of Priebus and the other officers were all created by previous National Conventions. Future Conventions can change anything they like. If you are currently mad at the RNC and want to fundamentally change the institution, the Convention is where you have to do it. Most of the howlers, however, don't have anything so fundamental in mind. They just want their own guy in charge.
About six years ago, it became clear to me that there wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. The leaders and leading office holders in both parties are self-serving, lying and corrupt scum.
The events of the last year have made it clear that the GOPe is more corrupt than the Rats. They would prefer that Hillary becomes President because that would maintain their status quo, and they would be relieved of actually doing anything the GOP base wants. The GOPe is only interested in lining their own pockets with the least effort required.
After voting Republican all my life, I will never vote for a Republican again (except for Trump) under any circumstances. In November, I will vote for Trump even if I have to write him in.
Reince is a GOPe sellout puppet and dweeb, but you’re right for him to have claimed otherwise would have been disingenuous.
Cruz probably believes he has made some deals but he will be betrayed if he manages to keep Trump short of the requisite delegates - this may not end well.
They are lying about not being able to beat Hillary. Hillary has conceded the state of WA to Bernie and the Democrats say the same thing is happening in CA. They hate her.
People on the East Coast don’t get the same news that we get. They are shocked by the idea that votes are bought in Congress. They refuse to believe me when I tell them that TPP is not a free trade agreement, that it provides jobs for immigrants, not Americans. They are afraid that everything that they are doing will be stopped by either Trump or Cruz.
