Trump question leaves House Republican stumbling
msnbc.com ^ | 02/11/16 12:40 PM | Steve Benen

As much of the political world shifts its attention towards the South Carolina primary, MSNBCs Steve Kornacki checked in this morning with Rep. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.), the states former governor. Sanford noted he’d heard from a lot of locals that supporting Donald Trump would help send a message to Washington. The Trump candidacy, the congressman added, has tapped into Republicans frustrations.

Sanford’s troubles were understandable. There were plenty of Republicans who effectively, if not literally, ruled out Trump as a possibility in 2015, when they still assumed the New York developer’s support would collapse. But many of those same GOP officials and lawmakers are now confronted with the real possibility that Trump will be their party’s presidential nominee.

Asked if the anti-Trump comments they made months ago still apply, Sanford probably is not the only one at a loss for words.

Sanford went from potential Presidential candidate to lowly Rep. He was certainly sunk by his own shenanigans for all intents and purposes.

If you’re going to fall in love with a mistress, man up, get a divorce, and be honest with your voters. He was sold as a staunch Conservative and soiled the brand with his selfish actions. I wouldn’t have cared if he lost to that Dem moron in that special election ... Someone new and Conservative would have replaced him a few months later in the fall. Instead we have yet another moralless establishment hack taking a seat that could be had by someone much better.

Mark Sanford: What a piece of work.

To think the good citizens of SC reelected him after his marital breakdown, breakup.

He is a clsssic career government type. And the voters put him right back in, down in “gold standard conservative” SC territory.

*Let me know when any contemporary conservative is making a concerted and effective effort, to sell free market capitalism.

Sorry ... Replaced ‘her’ not ‘him’ ... I just remember that the candidate running against him was that moron Steven Colbert’s sister.

Mysterious Super PAC Linked to Rubio-Romney Promises to “Kill Off” Trump in South Carolina

Former Romney deputy campaign manager and Rubio supporter Katie Packer

A mysterious Super PAC with links to Rubio and Romney promises to “kill off” Donald Trump in South Carolina.
DC Whispers reported:

This mysterious, Mitt-Romney-linked Super PAC is letting it be known they are prepared for all-out war to ensure Mr. Trump gets nowhere near the GOP nomination.

The name of the “anyone but Trump” multi-million dollar effort calls itself the, Our Principles PAC and is headed by former Mitt Romney deputy campaign manager, Katie Packer. One of Packer’s oft-repeated complaints against Donald Trump is that he is a RINO. That’s right, the former Deputy campaign manager for MITT ROMNEY, is now complaining that Donald Trump isn’t conservative enough.

Packer in turn is being supported by such GOP Establishment luminaries as John McCain, among others, to try and forge an ongoing, anti-Trump message that they hope will ultimately sway public opinion against the New York billionaire. Packer has also admitted she supports Marco Rubio, but says she is not affiliated with the Rubio campaign.

“If it bleeds we can kill it.”

Take note that the old coot John McCain is involved here as well. I really wish Donald Trump could find the time while he’s campaigning for the upcoming caucus in Nevada to make an appearance with Arizona state senator Kelli Ward, who’s challenging McCain this year in the primary for his senate seat.

I sure hope someone from the Trump campaign is looking for worthy candidates to come along with him for the ride.

Party loyalty aside, I’, glad the country found out what a fruitcake this man is capable of being before we nominated him for the top office. A self centered fruitcake at that. I can still see his poor wife and his three sons propped up onstage with him. All four family members looked to be feeling lower that whale Sh*t.

It’s The Art of the Deal.
For Donald Trump this is like a business deal. He is buying up GOP stock and it’s a hostile takeover. Sorry GOPe, sorry faux conservatives, you are losing the company. Better get out your golden parachutes. ;-)

TAKE BACK AMERICA. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. GO TRUMP!

Only difference is, Trump wasn’t holding office when that occurred. For Sanford to go ‘missing’ and turn up with a his squeeze, quite a different story. Was he getting paid to walk that trail?!
