I disagree with your assessment. He was never, in my humble opinion, advocating Rubio. He discusses the horse race honestly on a day to day basis. I feel he has been going out of his way to minimize his advocacy of Cruz all along (in fairness to the other candidates). Lately he has been tipping his hand more than usual at this early stage of the campaign. He understands the seriousness of this election and Cruz is his guy.
I dont blame him for his reticence to endorse..
He likes to tease.. Probably why he has so many ex wives. ;-)
