Former FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian Fitzpatrick, standing outside the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown on Thursday, announced his candidacy for Pennsylvaniaâs Eighth Congressional District in the House of Representatives.
âThe time is now to restore integrity and honor to our nationâs capital. Our government is broken. People have lost faith in the system: Corruption is rampant in our nationâs capital and Harrisburg. And all the while, too many politicians prefer to be political ideologues, rather than the problem solvers we need,â said Fitzpatrick surrounded by supporters. âI believe I have the experience and background to be the leader Bucks and Montgomery counties deserve. Serving in the FBI was an honor of my life, but itâs clear Iâm needed here.â

It looks like Brian Fitzpatrick is the likely nominee to succeed his brother. State Representative Scott Petri dropped out of the race not long after the announcement.
I don’t like dynasties, but if Fitzpatrick is the strongest candidate, I support him.
He better just worry about being a decent QB next season.
Not many other Pro-life Republican candidates that could do well here. It’s a shame Mike is retiring but then again it’s because he is a principled man.
Unless you live in his district. He destroyed the landscape with his signs. Every inch is our town is littered with verticle trash from his signage.
Really? Where in the district?
Doylestown
Hopefully he’s mistaken for his brother and has an easy race.
One of the rats is a woman named Shaughnessy Naughton. Shaughnessy. I loathe the practive of giving girls surnames as given names. Shaughnessy is particularly unsuited. Waiting for a chick with a name that ends in “man” like “Coleman” or “Steadman”.
The other rat is State Rep. Steve Santa’s Stereo.
On paper, and based on what’s in his website, Santarsiero looks like he’d be tough to beat, even though the district leans very slightly Republican. I’m still pissed that Mike Fitzpatrick retired (and not to run statewide, which would have been an acceptable trade-off) and that we have to count on his political neophyte brother to try to hold the seat.
Unfortunate retirement.
Highly competitive districts are not the place for silly one way street term limit pledges.
