Trump strikes post-ideological chord in New Hampshire
Politico ^ | 01/25/16 10:07 PM EST | BEN SCHRECKINGER

In New Hampshire, Trump"s grab-bag of populist positions and singular persona match an ideologically promiscuous electorate, and Trump towers above the field.

Speaking for less than an hour to about 1,000 attendees, a hoarse Trump cast himself as a man apart from the entire political system, painting Hillary and Ted and Jeb as beholden to their donors. I am the only one that is funding my own campaign on either side, Democrat or Republican, which makes me feel a little bit lonely, he said.

Go Trump! Make America Great Again! It is almost too late, but only Donald Trump has the know-how, courage, name recognition, and freedom from rich donors to accomplish that gargantuan task.

Good, solid words, E12.

The new paradigm is GLOBALIST vs. NATIONALISTS.

Without borders and overrun with mexican rapists and drugs, mooslims and rapefugees, with third world wages for a very few jobs, all good jobs remaining here taken by Cruz's 500,000 new H1-B visas---all our other differences don't matter.

A nation is not a nation without borders.

We MUST defeat the GLOBALISTS first, then return to bringing conservative principles back. FIRST, we must Make America Great Again.

Pat Buchanan was saying all these same things back in the 90s — before we lost all our manufacturing jobs and opened our borders. Pat was right then.

Most people have no clue how big $505 Billion EVERY YEAR is. It will fund most of our military budget. Or, it can fund all our entire federal discretionary spending.

That is the amount we pay China EACH and EVERY year due to trade deficit. The plant Ford is building in Mexico is only $3 Billion! How many factories we can build in America with $505 each year? How many jobs will be created in United States with $505 Billion to invest EACH YEAR?

What dismays me is no career politician has done anything about it! Actually they do the opposite by saying we can do nothing to aggravate China! They might cash in the Treasury bonds they own. And that would be protectionist! Heck, China can add to their bond holdings every year with $505 Billion surplus money.

To me this is a stupid & asinine policy to carry on such a huge imbalance of trade with any foreign country. We need free trade plus FAIR TRADE. I will be happy to pay 45% more for stuff made in USA if I can get a middle income job, instead of collecting food stamps and government checks to buy cheap stuff made in China at Walmart.

I hate starbux. The coffee at McDonalds is just fine (they use Seattle’s Best here) and costs only 1 buck!

Ah wuz jest pickin’ on ya! :>) I hate Starbucks too. Over rated, over priced, and overly obnoxious to my point of view.

McDonald’s is fine and so is Dunkin. Depends on which way I’m heading. One on each side of the road. G’Nite. Molly is tired.

I have a HUGE trade deficit with my grocery store.

Economic illiteracy is not conservative.

only Donald Trump has the know-how. . . .

I've been listening to this clown for six months now, and to me he sounds more like a know-nothing. Very ill-informed and intellectually lazy. Lacks depth and substance. Don't hear much at all from him about constitutionally conservative guiding principles.

Trump has always said single payer universal health is the best. Here is what he wrote in 2000 and he still says the same thing now.

We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing. One major problem is that the single-payer plan in Canada is in financial difficulty, as is the nationalized plan in the United Kingdom. We have to improve on the prototype.

From his book, The America We Deserve

Now you’ve gone and done it!

Brining up Trump’s past political stances will cause you to reap the wrath of Team Trump. In the style of their leader, you can expect insults, condescension and attacks of all kinds.

Do a quick search and see the flame fest a January 2015 article that compared his infamous (to them) 1999 interview to more recent ones, showing the consistency in his liberal policies over that span of time.

Good night, and good luck!

I am for UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE run by private sector.
See my profile page for more details.
That is NOT a single payer system.
Many do not understand the difference between
universal healthcare and single payer.

Single payer is always run by government. No good!
I am on single payer right now, my Medicare.
It sucks big time. But seniors like it because it is
subsidized by tax payers. SO much waste and fraud!
It is going broke anyways.

Because you never ran a 10 Billion dollar business.
May be you never ran a 10 million dollar business.
You really think Trump’s business grew that big,
because he is a clown? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Please try running a 1 million dollar business and we can talk.

No you do not. Your grocery store wants every cent from you for the material you are buying.

It’s not a past stance, though.

He also stated his belief in it in the debates.

He said it works in Canada and Scotland and could have worked here. He did not say he would implement it here but talked about a reform of Obama care “without the artificial lines around every state”.

I do think it is fair to think that over one or two terms he would advocate moving to a single payer system, as he has consistenty stated his belief in it.

Like he said, he wants to “improve the prototype”.
