Yeah, I don’t know about you, but when I want a sane, rational opinion on a topic of public import, Michael Savage is the first name that pops in my mind.

Listened to a little Savage this week and he seems to be abandoning any pretense of being a conservative. He was praising the hippie movement of the 1960s. He took a caller who was an “ex-hippie” and said she’s pro-choice and is supporting Trump, and was praising her and giving her lots of air-time. Savage kept bashing both the “left-wing” and “right-wing,” basically saying we needed a moderate, or something.

I’m seeing the same thing all over Twitter from Trump supporters. I get ripped by Trump supporters for being part of the “conservative establishment.” This feels like a real cult of personality around Trump, based on no issues at all, just vague beliefs that he’ll fix everything. Many of his supporters have no loyalty to the conservative movement, our beliefs, our ideology, etc. He’s becoming the Jeb or Romney “fix-it” guy now. I assumed Trump would swing further away from conservatism in the general election but I’m surprised it’s happening before the first primary.

I can understand why every single New Yorker, either from there or living there currently, supports Trump because of the hometown advantage. That covers Savage, Geraldo, Giuliani, Peter King, etc. There’s so many New Yorkers in the media and on Fox that Trump is getting a lot of sweetheart coverage now.

I’m sensing a disturbance in the sarcasm confluence.
