Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General and constitutional law attorney Thomas H. Dupree appeared on Sean Hannity's Fox News show to answer whether Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is eligible to be president of the United States.
Controversy surrounding Sen. Cruz's eligibility arose when business mogul Donald Trump questioned Sen. Cruz's status as a natural born citizen.
When asked by CNN's Wolf Blitzer whether Sen. Cruz is a natural born citizen, Trump responded, "I don't know, to be honest."
Constitutional law attorney Thomas Dupree, however, says, "[T]here is no question whatsoever that Ted Cruz is constitutionally eligible to serve as president of the United States."

Below is a transcript of what former Deputy Assistant Attorney General and constitutional law attorney Thomas Dupree had to say on Sean Hannity's Fox News show:
Thomas Dupree: "Absolutely. Sean, there's no question whatsoever that Ted Cruz is constitutionally eligible to serve as president of the United States....

The Constitution is begging for Cruz to win so he can release it from Hussein’s, SCOTUS’s and Congress’ lock box.
100% of the time when people say they are 100% sure they are wrong 100% of the time.
Good, if Trump can get this eligibility question out of the way, then he doesn’t have to worry about choosing Cruz for VP.
The neat thing is that the more Trump hits on this, the more the media/GOPe will defend Cruz, since they need to Cruz to take out Trump (before doing away with Cruz, of course). This would not be the case after Trump wraps up the nomination (in a month or so) - they will go birther on Cruz - but Trump will have them on the record the other way.
So another INGENIOUS strategy by Trump. The guy is AMAZING.
Prince Hamzah bin Hussein (born 29 March 1980)[1] is the son of King Hussein of Jordan and his American-born fourth wife, Queen Noor.
And is therefore qualified to run for President of the United States if he spends another ten years in the US, assuming he took four years to graduate from Harvard.
Oh looky, another noob! There sure are a lot of August 2015 sign-ups running around here these days pushing the Cruz birther nonsense.
He's a two-bit con man.
Trump the ultimate conman, playing to peoples fantasies, saying Cruz is a nbc one day and the next day saying he isn’t
What a bunch of nonsense trumpsters are taking to believe
You sure about that?
“He’s a two-bit con man.”
Could be. We’ll find out next year.
You are wrong. For the Prince to be eligible for POTUS, BOTH of his parents must be US citizens and satisfy the age and US residency requirements. NOT ONE PARENT, BOTH.
So you think that is actually something within the realm of possibility?
So you think that is actually something within the realm of possibility?
Are you 100% sure of that
I would just like to point out that Cruz was born in Canada.
Actually no since the Queen had to give up her citizenship to marry the king and become part of the royal family.
Why not try and match apples to apples?
“Prince Hamzah bin Hussein (born 29 March 1980)[1] is the son of King Hussein of Jordan and his American-born fourth wife, Queen Noor.

Correct. He can run. Could he be elected?
The mother of Prince bin Hussein is Queen Noor, wife of Jordan’s King Hussein.
Noor was born Lisa Najeeb Halaby, daughter of Najeeb Halaby, former head of the Civilian Aeronautics Board, an American Citizen.
Looks like the Prince is as eligible to run as Cruz is. And I like Cruz too.
âIt means someone who is a United States citizen at birth, regardless of where theyâre born geographically.
âIf theyâre a United States citizen at birth â that is to say, if they have a United States citizen parent â they are a United States citizen. Theyâre constitutionally eligible to serve. Thatâs the beginning and the end of this debate.
Uhm no
4.4 Current Federal Statutes: Current Federal law, specifically Title 8 Section 1401, lists those who are U.S. citizens at birth (persons who acquire U.S. citizenship at the time of their birth), but does not specify persons who are U.S. citizens by birth [45].
The term natural born citizen is not found in any existing Federal statute. Although the U.S.-born child of a foreign-citizen parent is a U.S. citizen by modern-day policy, no existing Federal statute declares such a child to be a natural born citizen
