The only thing worse than Obamacare, is the mess it replaced.
Just saying.
“The only thing worse than Obamacare, is the mess it replaced.”
Sure wasn’t the case for me and my wife. While we are lucky that we were able to get new H/C policies at a decent price (and w/o deductibles) since we are on SSA and don’t have to geet insurance for Obolacare. But Obolacare mandates forced the cancellation of the policies we had which met our needs very well. But look at the bright side, at 75, I can get an abortion for free (and I’m a guy), and free drug counseling!
My small group policy premiums have doubled under deathcare by the kenyan antichrist. Our deductibles, already high, have tripled. The network of providers is narrower. You are ignorantly, stupidly wrong: deathcare is NOT better than the “mess” it replaced.
We have had a form of single-payer in the US for many decades.
It has always been very inefficient, expensive and just plain stupid!
The single payer is as always, the hapless taxpayer :-(
Ever since it was mandated by law that any individual who shows up at any emergency room with any complaint at any time MUST be treated, we have had a twisted form of single-payer.
There is NO way in hell that these laws will ever be changed... thus we will always have a form of single-payer as medical care of last resort.
A realist comes to the inescapable conclusion that all we can do to minimize the disaster is to reform the system into something less stupid.
Medicaid and the legal requirement to treat is our De-facto single-payer system.
You could fly in on a cargo plane from Flyspekistan and parachute to the ground and you could receive free medical care at the nearest emergency room.... all courtesy of the helpless taxpaying citizen.
Obamacare did nothing to make this mess any better :-( It just made it more expensive for the poor taxpayer. It is a way to fine the people who cannot afford to buy insurance.
Perhaps Trump could bring a bit of business savvy to this mess and make it somewhat better.
Single-payer will always be with us in some form.... lets hope we can make it better some day soon.
You’re as wrong as you can be.
85-90% of Americans were at least satisfied with their health care coverage pre-Obamacare. Have you seen any polls on Americans satisfaction with it now? People hate it. I’m in the industry....I know...you don’t.
You would fit in better at DUmmieland.
It may have been a mess before, but it is far worse now.
Back in 2010, family of five, $7,000 deductible and high co-pays. I think it was considered “catastophic” insurance at the time. $345 a month.
Flash forward to this month. $10,000 deductible, higher co-pays, and we just got our new bill - $1,320 a month! And we know we are already in for some big bills this year. (But hey - at least we’ll meet the deductible!)
My wife opened the new insurance bill just last week (went from $1,040 to the $1,320). She was in tears. “Paying $1,320 a month. For WHAT!?” In my mind I thought “so the ‘poor’ people can have free health insurance.” I didn’t dare say it though.
I’m guessing we’ll spend almost $30,000 in medical expenses next year. Another few years at that rate and we’ll probably be able to get the “free” insurance.
FUBO
What in the heck are you doing here?
What universe are you living in? Set aside the fact that many people (including me and my family) lost our perfectly good health plans because they could not afford the B.S. mandates. Set aside the fact that most Americans are now paying higher premiums and higher deductibles for a reduced level of care. Set aside all of the other facts that resulted in the degradation of the U.S. health care system under Obamacare. The absolute tragedy of Obamacare, and any Universal Health Care scheme is that we are now a country in which the government can force us to buy a sevice, whether we want it or not.
Don’t be fooled, the premise of the article is a lie. He isn’t supporting single payer. He’s clearly describing a private competitive system that will cover most people. The “they” he’s talking about the government paying for are people who can’t otherwise afford healthcare. It really just proves the “conservative media” can be just as dishonest as the left-stream media.
What mess Obamacare replaced? That’s a liberal argument.. what we had was far better than Obamacare and with a few tweaks it would have been fine (i.e. open competition across states).
No, quite the opposite. 0bamacare is much worse.
