Iowa evangelicals could play an unfamiliar role in 2016: Putting down an insurgent Republican candidacy rather than boosting one. This is a crucial demographic in the country's first nominating contest. According to the 2012 entrance polls, 57 percent of last time's caucus-goers were evangelicals or born-again Christians.
Typically, these Iowa voters have helped insurgencies. In 1988, Pat Robertson ran ahead of George H.W. Bush in all 99 counties. Pat Buchanan barely lost the state to Bob Dole in 1996, setting him up for victory in New Hampshire. In 2008 and 2012, Iowa evangelicals launched Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum from low single digits to top-tier status...

The Washington Examiner sure doesn’t like Trump. I wonder why?
More WhiteWash Examiner drivel.
Yes, the “evangelicals” around here just love the attention that they get every four years; as usual, they are embarrassing the rest of us.
There is no Iowa problem.
Washington Examiner has had a constant stream of anti-Trump articles, so I am going to take this with a large grain of salt.
Now lets look at the numbers from the latest Iowa poll, the one from Quinnipiac:

With Evangelical/Born again Christians Cruz is #1 with 27%, Carson #2 with 24%, and Trump #3 with 20%. No one else even comes close.
Overall Cruz is VERY strong in the latest poll, and I believe he will win Iowa. With that said, Trump’s numbers are no joke, and if he can place 2nd or 3rd in Iowa, and take New Hampshire, this race will be between Cruz and Trump.
I think that Carson will finish 4th behind Rubio.
So many random stories like this. I am waiting for Trump to win Iowa, so I can watch all the incoherent babbling from all these ‘news outlets’
“I am waiting for Trump to win Iowa, so I can watch all the incoherent babbling from all these ânews outletsâ”
Yep, me too. Can’t hardly wait to see Uniparty heads exploding everywhere!
Dean scream thinks Trump will have it wrapped up by March 15.
Most likely.
If Carson implodes like I believe he is, and his support breaks for Rubio, you could be VERY correct.
Interesting guy behind the Washington Examiner.

Seems the type that would be backing any Christian social conservative over Trump.
I have been noticing the same thing about the Washington Examiner. Maybe they have been inside the Beltway for too long.
I’ve been saying that for a while. Really the week before will be a rout. I don’t see where Trump is going to lose any of those primaries, or NH and SC before. And it’s no longer early. Trump has been in front three times longer than there is left before the voting starts.
I could envision Trump having a real splashy, impressive get-out-his-vote mechanism in place.
That’s ok...the other “56 states” loves himself!

Correction/addition;
SEC Tuesday is March 1
Florida Primary is March 15
Am building the matrix to show how many states will be in the same situation. I do know that Alabama and Arkansas have passed their filing deadlines as their state primaries are also the same date as the Presidential.
I'm not saying it's over, but the fat lady is warming up in the green room. Cruz needs a game changer, and I don't know what that could be.
