I like Carson personally but I trust him to understand, especially, economic issues. Doctors tend to be notoriously off-track when it comes to economic issues and tend to think government is the answer.
Minimum wage, which acts as a tax, is probably the single most disastrous element in our economy, driving up costs and prices, killing jobs and opportunity, and sending business and advantage elsewhere to places like China, Japan, and Mexico.
Contrary to Trump’s assertions, China and Mexico are not the economic culprits - the mostly unconstitutional $4 trillion federal government is our great economic culprit and thief.
My wife is about to retire from a lifelong career working in medical offices of all kinds, from family practice, heart surgeons, chiropractors, etc.
One common thread in all of them? They are all run with very poor business practices. But since the doctors make plenty of money, they are rarely concerned about waste.
Re: “Minimum wage, which acts as a tax, is probably the single most disastrous element in our economy...”
Strongly disagree.
Massive legal immigration has created a massive artificial surplus of low skill labor, which has crushed wages and benefits and job opportunities for America’s poorest home grown workers.
Massive legal immigration has also stifled essential R&D in robotics and other labor saving technologies that should be the natural response to zero population growth in advanced modern societies.
And, massive legal immigration from Third World nations has supplied the Democrat Party with 20 million extra Socialist voters who enthusiastically support the highest minimum wage that is politically possible.
