Speaking of leading the fight against Iran, the opposition is using Ted Cruz’s good works.

Speaking of Ted Cruz leadership. States are now using Cruz’s supreme court win as precedent to impose Iran sanctions of their own.

So, can you find any time in the past that as many as 67 votes were needed to STOP the passage of a trade bill? That goes far beyond the 60 the TPA was to require to STOP (not PASS) trade bills, for such authority.

It is true that TPA-like mechanisms have been in place, but you do not correctly state what such fast-track legislation allowed. You see, that authority in the past still required 50 majority of votes to PASS, but they did not allow amendments or filibusters.

The fast track negotiating authority for trade agreements is the authority of the President of the United States to negotiate international agreements that Congress can approve or disapprove but cannot amend or filibuster.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_track_(trade)

Your knowledge of history is totally screwed up. Give one occasion that Fast Track has ever not needed at least 51 votes to pass the trade bills.

A further follow up:

Specific to the Iran trade sanction-lifting, only, the Corker amendment really set trade with Iran on its ear:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/04/16/republicans-cave-to-obama-on-iran-deal/

It is really bizarre to note this was done FOR IRAN and was voted on by everyone but Tom Cotton.

Note to Donald Trump, if you will be attending the rally with Glenn Beck, you may want to review, and or increase your security, since Beck hates you and is clearly a lunatic!

One factual correction is needed in my prior post:

That goes far beyond the 60 the TPA was to require to STOP (not PASS) trade bills, for such authority.

That should read “51,” and not “60.” 60 votes are what the TPA needs for changing the text of a non-Iran trade bill. 51 votes pass non-Iran trade bills.

> “So, can you find any time in the past that as many as 67 votes were needed to STOP the passage of a trade bill? “

You haven’t been paying full attention. It has been posted here multitudinous times. The fact that you haven’t done the research before shooting your mouth off reveals you to be someone to shun which will happen shortly.

Pre-cloture Ted Cruz railed and railed against the Iran deal and how it turned the treaty powers of the US Senate on its head. But McConnell cut off debate after lining up his lemmings to vote for cloture.

After cloture was passed Obama threatened to take the Iran Deal which had been kept secret from the public to the UN. The deal is about the release of 150 Billion to an international terrorist regime. Obama should have been impeached and convicted for treason. But McConnell led his lemmings to believe that Obama would hold off going to the UN and allow for a 60 day review of the secret deal. Therefore, senators such as Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions voted YES on the f*cking deal to delay Obama from going to the UN and getting the 150 Billion released. But Obama lied. He went to the UN anyways. So whatever Congress does now is nothing more that a cluster f*ck because the goddam money is gone.

Now you’ve demonstrated you have no understanding of politics and contribute nothing more that a big mouth on thread posts.

Go away from me and don’t bother me anymore.

Ted Cruz voted for the Corker amendment. Ted knew what it did and voted for it.

What 0bama does with the UN is a separate issue.

You should be zotted for constantly spreading lies about Cruz.

Cruz voted AGAINST the TPA. Cruz tried to amend the Corker bill to block Obama’s Iran deal but he was voted down. Your hero Trump is not ending H-1Bs and has said countless times on TV he wants foreigners who graduate from our colleges to stay here and work.

I am in the top 1 percent of donors to Cruz.

He has been my top pick before there were options. It was Cruz who did these things against his reputation. I could overlook the H1-B visa crud (his wife wanted that for Goldman Sachs), but he’s doing additional stuff for which he must be held accountable. He’s the only one we’ve given money to this election cycle.
