"his priorities, should he run would, include building up the military, reaching a new deal over nuclear weapons in Iran, and repealing ObamaCare."

“I would end ObamaCare and replace it with something terrific for far less money for the country and the people,” Trump said. “I would absolutely end it and replace it with a much better plan that is much less expensive. ObamaCare is a disaster.”

We have had a free healthcare system in place for some time now.

It used to be medicaid and the fact that anyone that shows up at an emergency room is entitled by law to treatment. To that existing mess was added Obamacare.

The whole thing needs to be fixed.

IMO what is needed is malpractice limitation, making insurance available across state lines and a two-tier healthcare system...Cadillac for those that can pay and basic care for all others. We cannot afford anything else.

Oh, I should have added that veterans should get the Cadillac health care, of course!

How about the option of no insurance? Back it up with clinics where medical professionals are protected from malpractice suits, people pay according to need, and the pupose is to provide affordable health care options?

Some people just don't like being yanked around by an insurance company.

Trump said. “I would absolutely end it and replace it with a much better plan that is much less expensive. ObamaCare is a disaster.”

The link had no more information than this bluster. A candidate who can deliver realistic details, not slogans and happy talk, will be a long way towards getting my vote. I fear that Trump is just hustling conservatives by telling them what they want to hear. Until he announces details, this is just Hope n’ Change for gullible cracka’s.

I am the biggest fiscal conservative on the planet.

And I am also for universal healthcare.
Because when I had the most excruciating pain during a gall bladder attack, I had the ambulance take me to the nearest hospital, and had to undergo an emergency surgery.

What if I had no healthcare insurance for hospitalization?
I never want another human being and American citizen to be without healthcare insurance.

Universal healthcare, properly designed will be much cheaper than Obamacare and any other forms of health insurance. I have posted detailed plans of how a cost effective universal health care should look like.

Trust? I would trust a businessman more than a professional politician anyday. Especially a very rich businessman nearing age 70, who has enough wealth for 100 next generations of Trumps to inherit $100 EACH. Compare that to professional politicians who barely have a few million and are thirsty for more.

I am sure Trump, being one of he best business minds on the planet, has even a better plan in mind.

Thank you for this link. I was also going to say he's said he wants universal single payer like The Old Country and all the Queen's colonies have had for years.

According to Paul Farrell today on MarketWatch.com, we will soon have the Pope's universal (exclusive) church, with universal single payer health insurance with full blown universal socialism in America. Capitalism and the constitution all "converted" in the twinkling of an eye!!!

You are right Bobalu. The problem with Obamacare is it was written for the benefit of insurance companies, not the consumer.

Getting medical treatment and free healthcare are 2 different things. It’s only free to the privileged under class. As for everyone else there is an expectation of payment for services rendered.

What if I had no healthcare insurance for hospitalization?

I'm semi-retired, and work for a company which transports people from hospitals to recovery/rehab facilities.

If you didn't have healthcare, you would be shuffled about just like all the others without healthcare.

They get picked up (sometimes by me) from the best hospitals in Denver, and taken to the better rehab facilities. Some can barely speak English, and from their belongings must have very little at home.

The ordinary Joe, not so much, they go to the facilities they can afford, not the nice ones the illegals and non-payers go to.

The only exception, those who have real money.

They do come from, and go to, the finest.

It wasn’t that long ago (2008?) that Trump was championing single payer, nationalized health care as the only right and proper way...

Just sayin’

My preference would be fairly high deductible insurance.

Pay your own ordinary medical bills, up and including fairly routine stuff.

But have insurance which kicks in when catastrophic cost levels come along.

My wife had an operation 10 years ago, and we paid direct. Her doctor told her to talk to for cash arrangements.

Our cost was about $10,000 but if it had been billed to insurance (we had none) it would have been $50,000 or more.
