Two candidates in the GOP presidential race are reacting to Donald Trump in vastly different ways, reflecting on their character.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) not only refused to criticize Trumps racist language about illegal immigrants but praised him, once again demonstrating there is no limit to how low the Texas junior senator will stoop to curry favor with the far right. Then yesterday, Cruz invited himself over to unctuously ingratiate himself with Trump. Thankfully, he did not bow as President Obama has done with foreign potentates. But the entire act showed how weak and desperate Cruz is. He is not his own man, but rather a faint echo of Trump trying to snatch back voters who no long find his routine amusing.
Then there is former Texas governor Rick Perry, who has already denounced Trump and, incidentally, gave an impressive speech on race. After Trump sneered at Perry for taking on a federal responsibility in securing the border, Perry on MSNBC blasted him: That is a federal responsibility. Its a constitutional requirement. The state of Texas intervened in a big way over the course of the last five or six years because of the impact that we were having from drug cartels, transnational gangs, from those that would be trafficking in the sexual trade, and we spent almost a billion dollars of Texas taxpayers money.(continued)

Yeah Ms. Rubin, I’ll be looking for that article in 2 weeks when Trump is still leading the pack, Cruz is in 2nd, and Perry is in Pataki territory.
We’ll be waiting...
I lived on the Rio Grande for 9 years. I used to have some respect for Perry. I have none now.
Thanks, I needed a laugh

I think Rick Perry, former Democrat and Texas state chairman for Al Gore, and later, after he switched and became a Republican, for Rudy Giuliani, is a strange person.
And I’m not even a Cruz supporter.
I meant to say, “I’m not even a Trump supporter.”
Rick Perry is certainly a disappointment.
LOL!

Ahhh, why did you have to go and post this? I despise Jennifer Rubin. Now I’m going to have do something.
I know. I’ll stick her on the Free Republic Religious Forum! They will devour her there, in the process of crawling over each other to destroy their mark. (Usually Catholic mark.) :)
I am more concerned with the electorate with no eyes. Look what the dirt bags of America did. They elected a POS to the White Hut twice.
Thanks Mark, I always appreciate hearing from the boots on the ground regarding articles like this.
But I must say it was an electorate with no brains!

Perry, Pataki, Kasich, Grahamnesty, Rubberio and ¡Yeb! all work for The Cheap Labor Express
Don’t vote for them unless you want the U.S.A. to become North Mexico.
“But the entire act showed how weak and desperate Cruz is.”
Who is this moron?
This is just laughable. Trump came out of this “takedown” in 1st place at 18%. Perry? 1%.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
.@GovernorPerry failed on the border. He should be forced to take an IQ test before being allowed to enter the GOP debate.
