Presidential campaigns from across the political field are releasing fundraising reports on Wednesday, but supporters of Ted Cruz already celebrated this past weekend.

I suppose the fun with the big political donors at the resort came out of the funds raised?

There it is.

Small online donations powered that fundraising operation, and are powering this one too: 175,000 donors gave an average contribution of $81.
If that’s the one you mean, $10 to FR please. Hold the fries.

Then I’d say it’s one of the sentences in the paragraph containing, “And while outside groups supporting Cruz raised far less than the groups backing Jeb Bush — which raised $103 million — they edged out those supporting any other Republican.” All of them speak to grass roots support.

In between expeditions of fly fishing and horseback riding (with Cruz himself taking part), the donors said they came to realize that the vaunted fundraising operations of their opponents aren't the juggernauts they once believed.

Here’s what bothers me. According to the article entitled “Why is Hillary Spending So Much Money”, she has already spent 45 million dollars on early organizing operations in every state! Including conservative Oklahoma!
Forty five million dollars! Cruz has proudly raised over 50 million.
So, this is the game. M O N E Y. And what you do with it and how soon you do it.

That the donors realized that their opponent’s fund raising wasn’t the juggernaut that they thought it was ?
That Ted Cruz came in 2nd only to Jeb Bush ?
