Cruz Twitter Rally smashes through to 1.1 billion impressions

Sen. Ted Cruz and his supporters are taking over the world of social media, the latest example being a "Twitter Rally" for the GOP presidential candidate that sent tweets to 1.1 billion followers.
It occurred midnight Monday when the independent grassroots support group "Cruz Control" blasted out nearly 75,000 tweets on the candidate's behalf under the #CruzCrew hashtag.
The rally started with a blast of 5,557 tweets and touched on the Texan's "extensive knowledge of the Constitution, his support for the 2nd Amendment, religious liberty, and his steadfast opposition to Obamacare and Common Core," said a spokesman, who added, "Other tweets focused on Cruz's trustworthiness and his dedication to traditional American values and restoring the American Dream."(continued)

Oh, I get it. 75,000 tweets were sent out by various individuals who collectively have 1.1 billion followers. But that’s fudging the numbers. Nowhere close to a billion people actually saw anything relating to this event.

It did not say a billion followers. It said a billion impressions.
It is a like lot Drudge. He has 5-6 million unique impressions although he has 25-30 million impressions per day meaning that the same person accesses Drudge more than once.
