Good man, but not Presidential material IMO. Better to thin the field early.
Agreed
Somebody has been conducting an astroturf campaign for him on talk radio for a year. He’s a good man, but he is way out of his depth. He’s not a politician or a deep thinker. He’s a perfectionist who became very good at his profession, but that doesn’t make him somebody who should be President.
Oh yeah, he sounds ready to be president.
Me! Me! I wanna run for President despite the fact that I’ve never been elected to the village water board! Me!
What Campaign?
He’s too good to be a politician.
I consider this his midlife crisis moment. I wish he’d bought a sports car and/or found a young chick, rather than get into the political sewer. This is just not right.
Chiming in to add my voice to the others saying the good doctor was definitely not ready for prime time. He deserves a medal of some kind with multiple oak leaf clusters for his ability to stand up in front of the _resident and call him out at the National Prayer Breakfast. There’s a political role for him somewhere but it’s not vaulting to the top of the ticket as the first step.
Are the Bonneville flats drying up?
“The presidential candidacy of Ben Carson, a tea party star ...”
++++
Hmmmm. Did I miss something somewhere along the line? Tea Party favorite? I don’t think so. The sooner this guy goes home the better for all of us.
One could have said the same thing about Reagan.
Just for the record, I agree, Carson is not Presidential material, but relying on the knowledge of others, is not a dis-qualifier.
Reagan wasn’t a Carter style micromanager, but he was a two term governor who understood the political process as well as anyone.
Ditto
16 months of this left to go....does any one ever learn?
I’ve never really understood the reason for rallying behind Ben Carson. If you want a so-called full-spectrum conservative, then Ted Cruz is a better option. If your emphasis is social conservatism, then Rick Santorum and Bobby Jindal are more ardent advocates of that philosophy. If you want a libertarian, there is Rand Paul. If you just wanted to vote for a black candidate, you should have got it out of your system by voting for Alan Keyes when he ran. (I voted for him twice, but not because he was black.) I’ve never thought that Carson would last through the primaries. I’ve never really understood why his poll numbers were as high as they are.
Sounds like a hit piece to get him out of the way. They must be worried about Ben. I’ll take Ben over most of the rest of the field. At least he can’t be bought.
Might as well.
How’s the book sales? His “campaign is really just a promo tour anyway.
Maybe Surgeon General in a Ted Cruz administration ?
