One of Snohomish Countys most conservative Republican lawmakers has quietly begun a campaign to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Suzan DelBene.
State Rep. Elizabeth Scott of Monroe filed paperwork May 21 with the Federal Election Commission to become a candidate and start collecting contributions.
Scott is in her second term in the Legislature and seemed assured of re-election next year if she chose to stay in Olympia.
Now it appears she wants to serve in Congress, though she had made no formal campaign announcement as of Wednesday. Scott did not return phone calls.

Sate Representative Elizabeth Scott has won two terms after nearly winning in 2010 under different legislative boundaries. She’s very conservative, more so than the district, but seems to be a good campaigner. In fact, she reminds me a great deal of Linda Smith, who represented the 3rd. District in the state during the mid-1990’s. I don’t rule out her winning.
VERY pro 2nd a Amendment.
Seems like as strong a candidate for that seat as we could for, baring some conservative (haha lol) Microsoft exec coming out of the woodwork and spending 10 mil of his own money to win.
anything to stifle those childish DelBene campaign ads.
Wish her luck and may send a few bucks her way.
