Really? I get a check every month for disabilities incurred in the service of this country and I have never, in my memory, voted for a Democrat.

I didn't say everyone - but vast majority. The present US government/financial system is a doomsday machine of massive debt, printed money from the Federal Reserve, manipulated interest rates and stealing from the middle class through inflation and taxes - to fund every progressive social-engineering and political scheme, the political class and its cronies. Behind everyone receiving a government check is a progressive bureaucrat pushing to grow this vote-farming plantation. Convincing either of these groups that the system isn't sustainable is impossible.

As such, I simply don't see the potential for steady but sensible reform. Rather, the momentum of present forces will take it to "crash and burn" - and then some. Think Argentina in the past, or Greece now. What happens after that is anyone's guess.

However...Screw civil. Civil got us Bhoner, McConnel, Barry and the mess we are in.

If Reagan had not been civil as he was, he may not have been elected president. There is an art to being able to use proper language to persuade people. Ted Cruz is versed in that art. He speaks plainly and honestly about our situation, and it doesn't serve him or us to waste his time saying Romney was evil, when it would only distract from the point he was making.

I sure do remember Reagan being anything but civil on several occasions. He looked civil most of the time but read his comments about the dems and even some GOP. He called it straight up every time it was needed. Couched in humor sometimes with a clear meaning, brutally at others.

The Reagan Diaries prove that beyond question by it/themselves without ever needing to hit Youtube for the myriad videos.

No, they, for all their evil, at least have the presence of mind and guts to stand for what they believe in. We prove every election that we do not.

Romney was absolutely right with that 47% comment. That is roughly the segment of our population that is thoroughly addicted to gubbermint freebies.

So we write-off half the population? How do you win a national election that way? Oh yeah, he wasn’t trying to win...

There was a reason that he could never explain it, it didn’t even make sense.

Say what? The boss is usually pretty tolerant. For example, me. Here is an open and notorious democrat (at the time), posting all sorts of incendiary remarks...like the gop is a bunch of worthless liberal pukes. And here I am still, 10000 posts plus later. I’ve had a few threads pulled over the years but thats about it.

So long as you’re sticking to the principles espoused on the main page and remaining reasonably polite, you shouldn’t have a problem. But if you don’t stick to those basic principles, plan on riding the lightning. Especially if you’re pro infanticide. The boss sure seems to love zotting apologists for the antilife (and I heartily agree).

Thanks I'm pro life. Pro Cruz. Pro military. Pro vets. But I came out against the H-1B work visa program and got killed. geez. Maybe I'm wrong about it and have done a lot of reading today and see both sides.
Not sure what else I said that could be construed as other than pretty hardcore conservative.

Not that I would have voted for a RINO cultist, but still.

Of course! why vote for a RINO cultist when the Muslim brotherhood sympathizer is much preferable! /S

You’re welcome.

I don’t work for the boss, and don’t pretend to speak for him. That said, I don’t see anything in that which is going to cause you to ride the lightning. I don’t know all the mechanics between the mods and the boss, but my observation is that posters with a significant posting history are only zotted by the boss, and then only after some sort of warning. Life issues perhaps will not get you a warning.

Now as for the H1 issue, if you were criticizing TC about it on a TC thread, of course you’re going to catch some flak. There are those who support candidates and those who worship them. Cross the worshippers with utterances of heresy and you’ll get them riled up. Expect it.

FWIW, I view it in different terms. From the perspective of the uniparty, the Spice Must Flow. There are two issues that immediately come to mind where the uniparty isn’t going to budge and candidates aren’t going to push. One is relatively open immigration, the other is increasing the money supply. if those issues are the things that primarily motivate you, then what can I say? Plan on disappointment.

I’m still trying to figure out what the big deal was with the commie hippies and that “47%” thing. When Romney talked about the “47%”, he was just stating a fact.

He was stating a fact, indeed, but a superficial fact.

Because most of the 47% don't want to be in the 47%.

If Romney had had his druthers, he would have focused on explaining to those folks how he and GOP was going to give them the ability rise up out of the 47%. Instead, it was deer in the headlights. The GOP must be the party of growth and opportunity!

Fortunately, Ted Cruz understands this core issue. "I think Republicans are and should be the party of the 47%," he said.

The Democrats, on the other hand, are the party of crony crapitalism and the $500k speech!
