They sure are "spilling a lot of ink" trying to convince us that he has no chance at the nomination. Why would that be?

“In early polls, Mr. Cruz trails other likely candidates by a wide margin.”

And the polling numbers for Obama even one year into his candidacy?

“So what are we in the media supposed to do about Mr. Cruz’s candidacy?”

This is such a telling article. They don’t make any pretense at fulfilling their actual mission which is to report.

“...many leading figures in the Republican Party — people who control money and influence voters — believe Mr. Cruz would severely damage the party’s chances of winning in 2016 and will fight against his candidacy if he becomes a serious threat.

And he probably won’t ever become such a threat anyway.”

Notice how he uses the word “threat” when a neutral term such as “contender” or “candidate” is more appropriate.

It is funny. Yesterday, he was a “firebrand”. AP, Reuters, National Review, NPR, Slate, just to name a few, called him that. I guess this weekend they will be saying he has no chance. Googling “Ted Cruz No Chance” gets 25 million + results. But they will tell us all day long that Jeb Bush has the best chance of winning the GOP nomination, and that Jeb Bush is “the most electable”. That is the media game.

They are all reading the same script, designed to help us make the best decision on our candidate for President. They so kindly helped us out with picking Dole, GW Bush, McCain and Romney. Bush only won by the barest of margins, such that they called the election stolen for 8 years. As soon as Jeb gets nominated, we are going to find out everything we never knew about Terry Schiavo. That, and the fact that it was Florida where Jeb Bush was governor when he helped his brother steal the election of 2000 from Al Gore.

Of course, when we pick the one they decided on for us as our best choice, they will proceed to demolish him. Ted Cruz has the best chance of actually winning, and they really want us to run with the electable Jeb Bush, because it makes their job so much easier.

I want to see their crystal ball. Cruz is telling America what we want to hear
and will enact those actions in Office.

When Bush43 took office the MSM cried about all the parties and dinners they'd miss.
Yea, the grownups need to take charge of the Frat house and turn it back into a
place of Patriotic American leadership. And I want to see people in prison!

So what are we in the media supposed to do about Mr. Cruz’s candidacy?

Why are "we in the media" supposed to do anything other than report on it? They're not even trying to hide it anymore.

In early polls, Mr. Cruz trails other likely candidates by a wide margin

The early polls in the last election without an incumbent (2008) were getting everyone ready for a squeaker between Rudy Guiliani and Hillary Clinton.

How'd that turn out again?

Here's a novel idea: how about we wait until campaigning begins in earnest and we approach the first primaries and caucuses before we declare who's serious and who isn't? The track record on that ain't very good.

No secret that the Republican establishment hates Cruz.

Wonder if the media seriously believe if they say it enough, “He also has virtually no chance of winning the Republican nomination, let alone of becoming president.”, that people will believe it? Some sure, but I have to think that an awful lot of people will find Ted Cruz refreshing and that point add further dismissal of the media for misleading them.

They sure are "spilling a lot of ink" trying to convince us that he has no chance at the nomination. Why would that be?

They are trying to reassure themselves that the variety of National Socialism, mistakenly labelled as "Liberalism," is not threatened. Cruz understands not only that the Constitution does not authorize the absurd Federal forays into local education & medical care; more important, he understands why the Constitution does not authorize such forays--that is, he understands the whole experience based understanding of Government, the importance of individual responsibility, local control of local matters, and the reality that people are not hunks of interchangeable biology.

To collectivist/egalitarians, who see big Government as the agency to achieve a uniformity of the human condition, very popular on the social wish lists among Leftist Academics & those they have successfully indoctrinated; reality is always a threat.

When you are part of a fantasy seeking culture--as is most of our contemporary media today;--the threat of a return to reality is very threatening.

When other candidates go into the media lions den they most often come out with some real bruising, when Cruz enters the den he does so as the lion tamer, the only scars are on the backside of the lions.

They are trying to convince us that he has no chance at winning because they want to and need to stop him early in the race.

They are also trying to dishearten and discursge his supporters so they won’t support him and donate money.

They know the power force behind the Tea Party and message behind Ted Cruz so they have to stop him early.

They have to marginalize him so he won’t become a effective force and a effective voice, all of us with his voice as one voice.

THE TED CRUZ DEINERS !
