Maybe I’m stupid this late at night, but I couldn’t grok what you meant. “Unelectable?” Like Ronald Reagan circa 1979? And what did he do vis a vis immigration that makes you think he failed somehow?

Re: “Unelectable?” Like Ronald Reagan circa 1979?”

Would that be the same Ronald Reagan who signed the Reagan Amnesty in 1986?

Would that be the same Ronald Reagan who could not be elected governor of California in 2016 because of the immigration floodgate he opened 30 years ago?

The USA electorate has totally changed. In 1980, 88% of voters were white. In 2012, when Socialist Barack Obama won reelection, just 72% of voters were white.

When Reagan won his landslide reelection in 1984, 91% of Blacks voted against him, and 66% of Hispanics voted against him.

If Reagan had posted those same numbers in 2012, running against Barack Obama, Reagan would have just barely beaten Obama in the popular vote.

Since the Reagan Amnesty in 1986, massive LEGAL immigration has totally changed the culture of America, and it has totally changed the political power in America.

If you can't see that, if you can't understand that, then I don't know what else to say.

Re: “And what did he [Ted Cruz] do vis a vis immigration that makes you think he failed somehow?”

2000 - Ted Cruz helped write GOP presidential candidate George W. Bush's immigration policy statement.

2005 - That policy statement became the blueprint for the Bush-McCain Amnesty of 2005-2006 that nearly fractured the Republican Party.

2012 - Ted Cruz publicly campaigned for more foreign work visas for Texas ranchers and farmers.

2014 - Ted Cruz, speaking in El Paso, stated he would have supported the Gang of Eight Amnesty if border security was “certified” and if there was no “path to citizenship.” What bunk! Every RINO Amnesty pimp in the Republican Party says exactly the same thing.

2014 - Cruz indicated he would support more “high tech” foreign work visas. More bunk! Those visas do nothing but push down salaries for American born workers and allow American corporations to replace American born workers over age 40 with cheaper and younger foreign born workers.

2015 - What could Cruz do that would convince me he's serious about immigration? He could go back to El Paso and tell the 80% Hispanic audience he will introduce legislation that will stop Birthright Citizenship, that will stop Family Chain Migration, and that will dramatically reduce the number of new legal immigrants and new citizens. Cruz will never do that, because he knows he might lose his 2018 Senate reelection if he did.
