Hillary Clinton’s Enemy No. 1
Politico ^ | March 12, 2015 | MICHAEL HIRSH

Posted on 03/12/2015 9:42:48 PM PDT by entropy12

It’s late Wednesday afternoon, the day after Hillary Clinton’s defiant I’m-telling-you-this-and-nothing-more news conference at the United Nations and Trey Gowdy — who’s now seen as her No. 1 antagonist on Benghazi — is all over the news up in Washington.

Taking on Hillary, Gowdy repeats, “is not my job. That’s the job of the RNC, and the Republican candidate for president. … If they hired me for that job they hired the wrong guy. Why would you hire a not-even-two-term guy, all of whose training tells him to go where facts take him, who doesn’t even go to National Republican Conference dinners, who’s lousy at fundraisers, who hates to travel? Because that’s who you’re getting.”

Trey Gowdy is a very smart and very wise man who doesn’t go anywhere alone in Washington. Gowdy knows how Washington works and how people can be set up in situations that at least appear compromising. Senator Tim Scott is similarly wise and careful. South Carolina can be proud.

A prosecutor see’s plenty of crooks, and Trey was a very good prosecutor. I can’t wait to see Hillary being grilled by his sub-committee on Benghazi.

Hillary looked awful during her news conference. Huge bags under both eyes, and she is NOT losing weight. She must be hitting the bottle. She is now wearing those ankle length dresses.

No less a man of integrity than Andrew McCarthy has accused Trey Gowdy of being slow off the mark in issuing subpoenas concerning Hillary Clinton's e-mails. Moreover, there has been much time elapsed and very little to show for Trey Gowdy's tenure on the committee.

The author psychoanalyzes Gowdy and concludes that he is indifferent to ideology which to this other means free of conservative taint. Conservatives like me worry that Gowdy is so free of conservative taint that he has been handpicked by Boehner to fudge the investigation.

I for one want a Paladin heading this committee, that means I want an ideologue, a true conservative who sees no conflict between pursuing the truth about Benghazi, especially Hillary Clinton's role in Benghazi, and advancing conservative values. I want an ideologue who recognizes that part of a committees function is political and the timing of the committees investigation as well as the publicity surrounding it are perfectly legitimate actions of that committee and indeed the responsibility of its chairman. If Gowdy is unwilling to accept these principles, I want someone else.

To do otherwise is, in Mrs. Clinton's husband's words, to engage in unilateral disarmament.

If she were a Republican, the media would be all up in her face for being 68 years old when the next election takes place.

She's ready for the nursing home ... pass it on.

The article certainly gives me that impression that as chairman of sub-committee, Gowdy is not gong ho about political fallout from the actions of his committee.

“Contrary to all rumor and innuendo, Gowdy says he is completely open to the idea that Hillary may have done nothing wrong while secretary of state. He has publicly pointed out “gaps” that go for “months in the materials she has provided on Benghazi. But he insists he’s not accusing her of anything; he just doesn’t know yet, he says.”

In other words he hasn’t found all the holes (gaps) in
Hillary’s story so she will know what to destroy and
cover up before the election. These so called “investigations”
never go anywhere nor hold anyone accountable because that
is the last thing they are intended to do.

I’ll put it in a nutshell: Gowdy is a GOPee ‘cockblocker’ like Darrell Issa.
What has Issa accomplished? Squat.

Trey can always prove us wrong, but he was appointed by Bonehead last May.
So far all we’ve seen is a lot of stuhrm und drang and ‘rah rah rah!’.

Oh yeah, and a lot of our FRiends telling us how wonderful he is. You’re only as good as your last verdict ....

When Mrs. Clinton went out of the public eye for about two months there I was sure she was recovering from liposuction and a face lift.
Boy was I wrong.

South Carolina can be proud.

Thanks.

But why no tributes to our Senior Senator, linda Graham? I'm shocked :)

Thanks for the ping entropy12.

Trey
Gowdy
Ping!

Want on or off this ping list of 50+ (and growing) FReepers? Just drop me a FReep mail.

We must remember that Trey and his committee are investigators. They are not prosecutors. More here.

Do you have a better solution?

Do you want Gowdy to burglarize Hillary’s house in Chapaqua and steal the server?

Have you forgotten who is in charge of the Justice Department? So long as Eric Holder is in charge, justice will do nothing to harm democrat presidential front runner.

Gowdy can issue subpoena’s until he is blue in the face, if there is no enforcement, nothing can happen. Laws are completely useless without enforcement.

One obvious point is Trey never promised any of us an outcome, and he has been brutally frank about the process he commands, as chairman.

He has said, basically, “no hard evidence, no case”.

Now, if he can get Hillary Clinton before his committee and mortal combat ensues and she perjures herself or otherwise screws up, then maybe we have a case.

If she shows up in our lifetime.
