Walker has a lot to lose.

If, as a neighboring midwestern governor who was born in Iowa, he does not win the Iowa caucuses in a landslide, he will have a very difficult time remaining a viable candidate.

And the fact that Governor Walker DOES have a lot to lose, is all the more reason to attempt to build momentum early on.

Now I kind of like Scott Walker, and have contributed to his various campaigns (and I continue to do so), so I already have a bias toward his future successes.

He is pictured by some factions in Wisconsin as some sort of antediluvian cave man, with no culture, no appreciation for the “finer” things in life, and no vision for the future. These people have thrown everything they had at Scott Walker, and he still shouldered it off.

As far as being born in Iowa, that little factoid did not help Michelle Bachmann so much in the last primary. Scott Walker was born in Colorado Springs Colorado, so make of that what you will. Walker did spend his early years in Iowa, but his family had moved to the southeastern part of Wisconsin by the time he was about ten.
