It is indeed very early. This is just fodder for political junkies. But I would rather have the candidate leading, and getting in the news than near the bottom of pack.

NH (Red Hampshire) likes to think of itself as a trend-setter, but it usually just ratifies the conventional wisdom or the latest set of polls. New Hampshire is an "open primary" state, where Democrats can "cross-over" and vote for the weaker Republican Presidential candidate. "Open Primary" should be banned among the states.
