This. Walker is going to have a tough time staying in this position. Ask Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum.

Bachmann and Santorum were unable to raise the money to be competitive. Further, Santorum lost his last election BIG, and Bachmann was only a Rep, not a governor.

Cain did very little to control the bimbo eruptions, and in the end it appeared that there was a "there" there. In any event, Cain quit, depriving himself of the opportunity to clear his name.

Newt Gingrich, unlike Scott Walker, does not practice custody of the mouth. He too had never won a general election larger than a single congressional district.

Rick Perry, uhmmmm, uhmmm, brain freeze.

Yes, in the event that Walker has a Macaca moment, that would hurt. That goes for anyone, and Walker does not seem to be prone to that, despite more baiting than any living politician this side of Sarah Palin has ever received.

I guess we’ll wait and see. If Walker is still in the mix a year from now, he will have earned it. I am a Cruz guy, but I’ll certainly have my eye on Walker as well as a vote against Jeb if necessary (I am not likely to have much of a choice in VA).
