Sure, water down the number of delegates from another Southern state.
The various states should allow any political party to have a primary whenever they wish as long as ALL expenses associated with their primary are paid by that political party. Taxpayers shouldn’t have to fund primaries. Furthermore, the general election for federal offices should be held on the same day, and only for that day. Absentee balloting would be allowed when certain verifiable conditions are met.
Primary order should be determined by % voting for your side. So the state with the highest percentage of Republican votes (based off last Pres. vote) gets the first primary. Then the one with the second highest, and so on. No point in letting liberal states weed out conservative candidates before they even get to any kind of Republican-heavy state.
Other Republican governors, including Mike Pence, John Kasich, and Susanna Martinez are conceivable candidates, too.

Wow! Gov. Susana Martinez? I’ve been promoting her for months. Didn’t think anyone else was even considering her. Apparently some folks are.
