School choice is not a good thing. It allows students whose parents who won't take accountability for their neighborhood schools to send them to someone else's schools. Then you end up with closed neighborhood schools and all the young ones from fragile neighborhoods going to someone else's local schools.

What's wrong with going back to community accountability?

Ted Cruz has this one wrong. The civil rights issue that would matter is making sure minorities remain minorities and recognize that with their rights come responsibilities.

And there is no honest moral defense for such an ideology.
