AUSTIN, Texas -- With the election only days away, Democrat candidate for Texas Governor Wendy Davis is holding nothing back in her efforts to attack her Republican opponent Greg Abbott. The challenge for Davis is that her past attacks have either been largely ignored by the voters, failed to stick after being debunked, or, backfired on her, as was the case with her "empty wheelchair" ad and an odd attempt to paint Abbott -- whose wife is Hispanic -- as opposing interracial marriage. Now, in a new radio ad, Davis alleges that Abbott does not want black Texans to vote.
The radio ad features an African-American male narrator who asks listeners if they've "heard of this guy running for Governor, the Republican Greg Abbott?" and calls Abbott "bad news," claiming that Abbott "tried to overturn the Voting Rights Act." "Take a guess about who Abbott doesn't want to vote," the narrator continues.
As Ashe Schow at the Washington Examiner notes, Abbott did not oppose the premise of the Voting Rights Act, but rather represented Texas as part of a group of Southern states challenging the section that granted the federal government the authority to preemptively review -- and reject -- any changes to Texas' election laws and redistricting maps....

The House version of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was supported by only 61 percent of that Chamber's Democrats versus 80 percent of the Republicans. More importantly, it was Republicans that ended a Democrat filibuster preventing a vote on this bill in the Senate.
82 percent of Republicans voted for cloture versus 66 percent of Democrats.
In the final Senate vote on the Act, 82 percent of Republicans voted "Aye" versus 69 percent of Democrats.

It is also worth noting that a then-Senator John F. Kennedy failed to cast a vote in favor of the 1957 Civil Rights Act. And then there's all that anti-lynching legislation from the 1930s that even FDR opposed.
What gets me is why is this b*tch even in the running? Wasn’t she exposed as a complete fraud last year? Said she was a single mother raising her kids in a trailer park when in fact she scammed a rich guy to marry her and pay for her education at Harvard while watching her kids after which she immediately divorced him once she got her degree.
It would take the jaws of life to separate her lips from that, because if she, or anyone else got there before Chris Matthews, they were not about to let go of it.
Those are qualifications for a Democrat!
So basically, all the things that Wendy Davis worries about herself, she is now projecting on her opponent. A person couldn’t think this stuff up out of the blue unless they were thinking it already.
It’s a strange strategy. She insults the intelligence of blacks and whites, and hopes they’re all dumb enough to believe such cynical nonsense.
